An absolute perfect choice for the song

Thurl Ravenscroft. He was also the voice of Tony The Tiger for 50 years.
The song was great though. Top notch lyrics.
The feel of the song is that jazzy bluesness, like Dylan's Ballad Of A Thin Man. Just perfect for tearing somebody down. I don't know which was written first, but the songs remind me of each other.

How about the guy who sings “No Dogs Allowed” on Snoopy, Come Home?
Maybe they’re the same guy. I don’t know...
Okay, I looked it up. They ARE the same guy! Thurl Ravenscroft. He was also the voice of Tony the Tiger. “They’rrrrre GREAT!”

Great song. Burl Ives singing on Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is also great. Have A Holly Jolly Christmas. He played Sam the Snowman too.

Sounds like a character from Game of Thrones or Harry Potter or The Last Kingdom or something. That’s a badass name.

Boris Karloff as the narrator was spot on, also.

With a name like "Thurl Ravenscroft" your potential career choices are extremely limited:
-Operatic-style bass vocalist
-Explorer
-James Bond villain
He picked the most boring, but safest, of the three.

I would say that he chose wisely though.
He was involved in some fun stuff, never really a star, but here we are talking about him, after all these years.

Someone asked him that he had a nice stage name. He said it is my real name.
He was a bass singer going to sing opera but found singing, voice acting and money better with Disney.

Bass singers are rare and hard to find in this world. It is even more rare to find a basso profundos which have powerful voices enough to shake the walls
Because bass singers are so rare, they don't have many written parts for them. Most men have tenor voices followed by baritone.

He was also a horror movie icon before Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

He had a good run, too, passing at age 91.

He has over 50 film credits to his name.

Most men fall in the baritone range.
