Very informative new 8 minute video about the shooting of Dimebag with unseen footage

New video on YouTube. Uploaded on December 8th in conjunction with the 20th anniversary.
At first glance, it looks like one of those awful clickbait videos but I learned more information from it than I’ve ever learned anywhere else about that night.
It starts with when the band arrived at the venue and also a little bit about what Nathan Gale did earlier that day. In detailing the shooting, it makes good use of computer graphics to tell the whole story. It even goes into detail about how many times each person was shot and parts of the body they were shot.
The previously unseen footage from floor level is not of the shooting itself, but starts very shortly afterward and shows some chaos and people fleeing the stage area. Also some footage from the floor shortly after Gale was killed.
The very end is extremely cool. I’m sure any big fan would appreciate being able to find the spot where Dimebag died. With Al Rosa Villa being torn down some time ago, it seems quite difficult to find it via googlemaps. This video provides the next best thing. There is now an apartment complex on the site, but what the computer graphic does with the highlighted figure of his body literally pinpoints the exact spot where he died. I’ll let y’all see how it does that.
I passed through Columbus last January on my way to Grand Rapids. I would’ve loved to visit the site, but had no idea how to find it and not enough time to stop to do a thorough internet search. If I find myself in the area again, this video will make it very easy to find the precise spot.

I saw this Damageplan tour at the old Howling Wolf in New Orleans where Republic is now. It had to be a few weeks before he was murdered. I am still amazed at how this story wasn't bigger at the time & how many people still don't know about it. I can't tell you how many people who call themselves casual Pantera fans who don't believe me when I tell them Dime was murdered onstage. It is one of the most shocking murders of a celebrity ever. This was a time when the internet was big but there was no social media. If this happened now everyone would know about it. Everyone would have caught it all on their phones & there would be 50 different videos to choose from of it happening.

Well they aren't casual fans. I can say i have a 150+ IQ, doesn't mean it's true.

I was at this show too. It was earlier in the year and not the tour Dime was killed on. They played The House of Blues on Halloween night with Shadows Fall and The Haunted. That was their last tour.

I thought it was the same tour but looks like I was wrong. Drowning Pool with their second singer Bongo opened up for Damageplan on that run at the Howling Wolf that I saw. Those days were pretty much a blur of shows. Good times back then.

That was the Headbanger's Ball tour with Damageplan, Hatebreed, Drowning Pool, and Unearth. New Orleans was technically an off date because Hatebreed wasn't there. I didn't care about Unearth or Drowning Pool.

I stood 20ft from him at Ozzfest 2000 in Baytown tx while Pangera played

Good video. What's the song at the end of it?

It was the good old days before social media. Any real rock music fan knew about it. Such a fricking sad story.

Wow. That’s fricking crazy. I knew a deranged fan murdered dimebag on stage but the specific facts I did not know.

The shooter had interrupted a previous Damageplan show earlier in the year by jumping on stage, and it required police intervention. No charges were filed.
