We need to hurry up and hire Rondo b/c I bet Orlando looks at him too.

If they lose to Detroit and don’t advance then they are almost surely going to fire Mosely. I like Borrego and if we don’t hire Rondo I’d just assume keep him but I think Rondo would be the answer to making this team actually give a shite and we see guys maybe hit their potential. We can’t sit on our asses much longer though, the clock is ticking.

I don’t follow the NBA super closely anymore, but would they fire their coach for losing in the 1st round to the 1 seed pistons? I know they had a 3-1 lead, but they are playing the 1 seed. They don’t have anyone to matchup with Cade, new coach doesn’t make them better. Did they under achieve this year?

IIRC they underachieved all year up until this playoff series given what they invested in trying to improve (Bane trade).

The main reason he’s getting fired is because Banchero and him don’t get along. The star always has more say than the coach when it comes down to it. LeBron has gotten countless coaches fired.

22-60 his rookie year
34-48 his second year (with a rookie Paolo)
47-35 his third year (progression with the core 4 of Paolo, Wagner, Suggs, and WCJ)
41-41 his fourth year (regressed offensively, but still solid. a few players were injured)
45-37 this year (traded for Bane, got better offensively but regressed defensively. Wagner and Suggs injured)
They are supposed to be better than their rercord IMHO

We have zero leverage with this scenario and the only way we get Rondo is if nobody else offers.
If Orlando has let Rondo’s agent know they’re interested we have to wait it out and hope Orlando doesn’t offer. That’s a much better job.
