Trading him straight up for RJ Barrett is probably fair trade value, but I’m not 100% sure Toronto would want to do that trade as RJ makes less money and showed really positive upside late in the season. (Even after dealing with the tragic loss of his brother) Ingram is 120% of RJ, but he’s older, with less upside, and he’s stubborn with his playstyle RJ also has a special, natural relationship with Zion, whereas Ingram and Zion never have been besties on or off the court and have really had to work on their relationship to somewhat coexist. RJ is also more likely to fall in line and accept that he’s probably best suited as the 3rd banana, vs Ingram thinking he is and should be the Main Character over Zion. I think that would be a beautiful trade from many perspectives if we decide to make that commitment to Zion as our clear cut #1.

Lol I can promise you 100% Griffin is not trading BI for RJ Barrett.

Is the player I’d love to add in a BI trade. I’m still upset we passed on him to draft a guard that can’t shoot.

And if we trade either of the 26/27 bucks picks I will riot. Those picks plus Zion, Herb and Trey are the future.

Not too good imo. He's on par with RJ Barrett. So I think you could maybe trade Ingram and a pick or a prospect like Dyson for a player about the quality of OG.

I mean this is just dead wrong

But at this point we’ve seen how far he can carry you, and it’s the play-in tournament.

He just isn’t good enough to dominate our salary cap until near 2030

Not nearly as much as this board will likely think it will be.

There isn’t anything wrong but fans are gonna fan. We’re done with Ingrams inefficient play and refusal to adapt to the modern game but NBA GMs are supposedly going to part with extremely valuable assets to obtain those traits.

Sorry I was little fired up

It’s not dead wrong. I am just not sure I agree with the comp.

I think at this point RJ actually has a higher ceiling than BI. He seems to still be progressing as a young player. I think what we see in BI now is the ceiling.

Do we have any faith that his coach has asked him to change?

He might not, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t consider it.

Let’s be real though, RJ might like being back in Canada and Toronto might not even be willing to part with him for Ingram.

It’s a fair trade that both teams should arguably do, but at the same time, might not be willing to do.

Its not really a fair trade. Getting back RJ Barrett, does absolutely nothing for this team. If you just want to get rid of Ingram at least do it for a center or a point guard. This trade us useless and RJ is not someone I want on this team.

Pairing Zion with his Duke bestie and a guy that is willing to shoot 3’s is not useless imo

I’m not saying it’s the 1st option for a BI trade. But it might be the most realistic. It would also save us some money for a Trey extension (assuming we still want him).

Pecking order would be a clear-
1) Zion
2) Trey
3) RJ

Instead of

1A-1B Zion and Ingram with uncomplimentary games and personalities

Dejointe Murray could be an option as well. We just have to be cognizant that he can be an extremely toxic personality at times.

What?? Who said this about Dejounte lol

RJ value is extremely low. He was tossed with Quickley to get OG. Griff isn’t trading BI straight up for RJ. Dejounte is miles better than RJ.

I get the effort but RJ Barrett does absolutely nothing for this team other than to get BI off the team. Hes a defensive wing that is OK shooting the 3, not really known as a shooter. We have plenty of those guys.

Yep

If you don't think he has any value, than you have to also think he won't get a big extension.

He certainly will get a big extension, someone will pay him. That'll tell you that teams do place a solid value on him.

How much per year do you think BI will get in an extension?
