That whole “overdraft” thing is stupid. If you are convicted that he is a potential top 10 nfl qb, you take him at 9. If you arent convicted, then you dont take him and dont trade up for him

I kind of see it that way, too. If you think Dart is the guy draft him. The Saints have scores of 1st round picks they botched that were "safer" OL an DL picks. Obviously, they should see if there is a difference maker available at 9 but I'm not sure that is going to be the case.

So the Colts didn’t overdraft Anthony Richardson?

That’s not his point. His point is that if you believe a QB is a first round QB, you aren’t overdrafting him by drafting him at 9.

Not even. He was their guy that they believed in and they were went and got him. Just because it didn’t—or hasn’t—worked out, doesn’t mean he was overdrafted. Dumbass word btw.

If a team has the conviction and the belief in a certain guy to be their guy, they can’t take a chance on trying to to slide back and have another team with a stronger conviction in him as their guy coming up and scooping him up. IF, he’s your guy, you don’t frick around and drop a few spots for an extra 3rd and cross your fingers nobody else likes him more than you do. Or just have bigger balls to go get their guy while we passively hope and pray.

May not work out. Probably won’t. Most don’t. But give me the guy they love and believe in enough to be aggressive and not take the chance you don’t get him.

People are so concerned with “winning the draft.” But their only measure is how late they can get a guy who the draft experts have on their big boards. Get a guy where the consensus is he’s the overall 10th best player at #20? Hell yeah. The problem with that is that we have no idea what teams’ boards actually look like and how much different they are from the “experts’.”

That said, I don’t love Dart at 9 either. But if he’s Moore’s guy, and he believes in him and what they can do together, and he’s not like #37 on the Saints’ board, then frick it. Give the coach his guy. You believed in him enough to hire him as coach but the franchise at 36-years-old. I think you gotta trust him and who he believes in.

Incorrect. When Richardson declared for the Draft everyone laughed and said he was not close to being ready for the NFL and needed more experience and needed to work on his accuracy. Then the media through his agents talked him up as this Generational talent that was deserving of being a 1st round pick. The propaganda worked but that does not change the fact he was overdrafted. His current career has exactly mirrored his college evaluation. He was way overdrafted thanks to his agent and the media pushing it.

Dart was one tough SOB at Ole Miss. I've seen the hits he took. He's a good QB. I don't hate it. Do the Chiefs regret trading up for their guy?
Loomis is such an idiot he probably doesn't draft Mahomes at 11 that year anyway

This is funny as hell. From 2nd or 3rd to being in the top 10 or even top 3 if the Giants pull the trigger.

Taking any of these QB at 9 is horrible pick. Dart later in the first makes sense. Sanders is a huge risk anywhere in the 1st

nah, it was 100% known that we were going Mahomes with that pick, which is why KC traded up to get him... EVERYONE knew we wanted him.... we were a little too loud about it, thus KC sniped us for him
