Oh Lord, I can't stand this dude. I watched a special where it covered him in high school. Dude was full of himself and put other people down constantly. If you are that good why resort to this type of behavior? Maybe because he knows he isnt that great. Coddled rich kid with avg talent.

If he woulda came out last year after lighting up Clemson and Tenn, he'd have gone higher than this season. ESPN was talking about the oline being a mess this season, so hopefully that was the issue. Hell, just think about how Carr looked early vs late bc of the oline

Backup QB isn’t a depth piece?

Why would we ever need QB depth? Saints QBs never miss time.

Don't know about his physical tools. But as highly ranked as he was out of high school, he's got to at least have some. Enough to maybe push Heaner for the backup role. If not this year, than maybe next. A backup QB on a 5th round rookie deal would be fantastic value.

They just took heaner last yr in the 4th round

And he kinda sucks. He and freaking Nathan Peterman don't lock down a position group.

Rattler is a significantly better mid round QB option than Haener. fricking Haener got busted for PEDs last year too, let’s not forget.

Our QB is 33 and kinda sucks, I don't hate dart throws at the position. Especially for a guy who actually has starter upside. I doubt he's actually the long term guy but even if there's a small chance, it's a decent pick

This is what late round picks are all about. There aren't sure-fire starters out there this late, you're betting on potential

Lmao. He has the best arm out of every QB in the draft. Played behind a shitty OLine and still produced. He doesn't fold under pressure, quick release and very accurate.

Jury's still out on Haener. Obviously Rattler is an unknown. Let the new OC work with these youngsters and whoever earns the backup position (please God not Peterman!) will most likely take some live snaps at some point in the season. Then we'll start to get a better idea about what we need next draft class.

Fantastic pick again. The Saints are actually drafting smart. This dude has all the ability. If it comes together for him in the NFL, he can certainly be a starter. And with Carr here, he has time to develop. Excellent!

This. Watch Rattler’s highlights and then watch Haener’s college highlights. Night and Day difference in terms of talent, progression, arm talent and maneuverability in the pocket.

Still a long shot to be a starting QB but he’s got a lot of traits to where if he ever puts it together, he could be a surprise starter in a few years. Crazier things have happened

Rattler will be in the league longer than JD. Much better QB.
