So we are dead last now on the side of the ball of Allen’s expertise.
Front four and corners have been pretty healthy. No excuse to be this bad.,
Past time Allen gets canned. Should have been done last year.

They shut down the Panthers and Cowboys and were declared elite, a complement to an innovative and unstoppable offense with unlimited potential. Injuries and real opponents changed the outcome and outlook drastically on both sides of the ball.

Since week 2 we've seen both the Panthers and Cowboys are trash.
Even though we were forcing FG's at times teams were still going up and down the field.
Tampa ran for 277 and again the pass rush was non-existent. Even when they do manage pressure they're too slow to bring down the quarterback.

the rushing team stats are gross:
Rushing Defense:
155 attempts, 802 yards, 5.2 ypc, 7 TDs
The passing stats aren't too bad... we give up a lot of yards but also force a lot of INTs (2nd only to the Vikings)
143/221 64.7%, 1665 yards, 7.5 ypa, 5 TDs, 10 INTs 76.1 passer rating, 15 sacks
3rd down defense:
29/72 40%
4th down:
4/10 40%
Rankings:
Rushing attempts 15th most
Rushing yards allowed 11th most
YPC allowed 1st most
Rushing TDs allowed 7th most
20+ yard runs allowed 5th most
Passing attempts 4th most
Passing completions 4th most
Completion % 18th most
Y/A 9th most
Passing Yards allowed 3rd most
Passing TDs allowed 24th most
Interceptions 2nd most
Passer Rating allowed 5th best
Sacks 13th most

Allen is a horrid HC and he's likely out
the FO is responsible for the mess that is this roster though, all of the missed draft picks on the DL (really both lines) , extending cam for.....reasons? Constant parade of bandaid fixes at safety, etc etc
and unfortunately there's no one to hold them accountable for it

Damn, feels like it was just yesterday when the Saints were 4-5 games short of breaking the record for the "longest streaks without allowing a 100-Yard rusher". My how the mighty have fallen
FYI, was 4 years ago when Philly broke the record by having Sanders & Hurts both go over 100 yards

I said this weeks ago. Right after the Eagles game....and I've said it every week since. I was chastized and downvoted to hell then. Now everyone wants jump on the bus.
This defense sucks hott arse. Period. I dont want to hear no shite about "oh they're tired cause the offense sucks". BS they been clapped ALL game the last few weeks. They just got lucky a few times to get turnovers or missed opportunities and dumb decisions by the opposing team. Every opponent the last 4 weeks has gone up and down the damn field at ease. Its trash on every level.
I've never seen a team get so much pressure, but rarely actually get the sack. Its atrocious. We're right in the middle of pack statistically, but the eye test shows they get oh so close, before the QB slips out like a hardboiled egg at a Diddy freak off. Team had 11 sacks the first 3 weeks, we've had 4 since then...

Where were the linebackers? Bucks were getting yardage in big chunks running right through the line and more than not, they were getting first downs easily.
This won't be popular but Demarius Davis, Cam Jordan, Honeybadger, have all lost a step or two and cannot contribute like the 24 year olds that are facing us each week. Time to clean house!

It's all because they can't tackle worth a shite, and half of them are retirement age.

It was more than just that.
It's not like they didn't think he was still a good player.

It all starts on the line. Only granderson effects the qb.

Eh, not really. Bresee is the sack leader with 4. Alonte has 3.5 (outlier from Car game), and Granderson has 3. Granderson consistently affects plays, both run and pass. Young consistently disrupts the backfield, but cant finish (only 1.5 sacks). Saunders and Cam are trash.
Second level is MUCH worse. Run fits are terrible, easily blocked and washed out. They cant cover TEs and crossers worth a crap. Always in the way of the CBs crossing when playing man. Just terrible.
Safeties are atrocious (outside of Mathieu who is serviceable bc of his knowledge). Harris, Howden, and Abram are all depth/PS guys (in that order).
CBs are doing a good job overall. They have their moments (looking at you Adebo).

I don't know if its due to the cap or we just don't value the position but our approach to safety has been head scratching since we let williams walk.

I’ve been with you for years. The D is a pile of shite and the most overrated unit in pro football.

Never should have been hired in the first place. I called it when he was hired. It was a lazy, pathetic, uninspiring hire. That’s par for the course for the Saints organization though.
Unbelievable that people who make millions of dollars to make these decisions (such as Mickey Loomis) completely whiff on the decisions on a regular basis.

Yep, I have BEEN saying that this defense is OVERRATED

But Allen is such a great defensive coordinator…

It's an old defense on top of that. I haven't heard Cam Jordan's name all year until he caught that batted pass.
