Makes sense. We see F5s and F15s all the time because of the Belle Chasse base but it was just out of the ordinary to see an

Till 2006 they were an almost daily sight in Nola. The F5s, will be short run as they are in line to be replaced by super hornets

They were based out of England AF Base when I,was a kid. Remember hearing the drones of positive hits when they did their runs on targets.

Yeah I had a good friend at Pineville High who’s dad was an A-10 pilot. Late 80’s.

The USS Kearsarge usually carries Ospreys and F-35s. More likely that A-10 is doing a training run out of the Belle Chasse air base.

An A10 is definitely not taking off from, or landing on, any ship.

Used to see them all the time in the early to late 80s in St Tammany. Pairs of them every week. Haven't seen one in forever

YES!
Hiking my favorite trail in LA...The Backbone Trail in the Kisatchie NF
High up on a ridge and the Warthogs would scream right over your head close enough that you could see the pilot.
and if we were lucky they would sometimes circle back for a practice strafing run on our ridgeline
It shakes you to your core and drops you to your knees
MERICA!!
So sad to see the A-10's being retired

My brother was Air Force stationed in Alexandria. He was a Warthog mechanic and sent to take part in Operation Desert Storm. He always called them Tank Killers.
