The ex-couple had a contentious divorce, with Lynette claiming, "Adam made it clear at the outset of this proceeding that he felt I was entitled to nothing despite the length of our marriage." She cited his massive real estate portfolio of almost $9 million and his car collection as evidence that her ex-husband had a lot of money.

She alleged that Adam historically earned in excess of $271,924 per month and requested that he pay around $66,217 per month of spousal support for the rest of her life. Along with over $21,000 in child support for their two children.

I don't follow Carolla that closely but basically over the last 10 yrs that I've heard him talk about his family, it sounded like he loathed his marriage, but stayed only so he didn't have to pay her this kind of ludacrious amounts.

Splitting half the assets is whatever after being married that long, but why is spousal support still a thing in 2024?

Pre-nups should be the order of the day, because state legislatures aren't going to change the ridiculously slanted divorce and support laws.

I follow his podcast off and on. I know he made a Paul Newman documentary and probably has some of his cars. He's real big into racing. He also loathes California and said he's attending his kids graduation in a U-Haul and getting the hell out of there.

This. If you get half the assets, why are you entitled to a monthly stipend as well?

I actually love the clause below.. I have no idea how often this is included in divorce settlements, but i think it should be mandatory any time children are involved, not just in celebrity cases

He has a ton of irons in the fire. His podcast was one of the first super successful ones though. I know he has his own beverage company and he does a lot with the daily wire. He's a true rags to riches story, dude came up working construction and now he's a multi-millionaire.
