Prime shipping in my area really fell off hard about two years ago, it was a coin flip as to whether you would get it within a week.

I quit paying for prime a year ago but still buy things, just make sure to select the free shipping option that says it’ll take longer. In a lot of cases in arrives on the second or third day anyway.

Amazon had been garbage every since they primarily switched to third party sellers and no longer direct to consumer.

Cancelling prime is the first step,

Not sure how anyone trusts the majority of garbage they sell

I got a Walmart+ subscription through my credit card and I've been surprisingly impressed with the service. They are definitely beating Amazon on delivery.

Amazon really needs to do something about the Temuification of their vendors.

This is a valid gripe. But to the OPs point, I guess it matters where you live, but with a warehouse near us, we get most stuff the same day or the next.

Is your address clearly marked on your box and by your front door?

Amazon has never mis-delivered an order to me or from someone else to my address because only Helen Keller could not see my address.

I use amazon for convenience on only a small subset of items. Clothes on amazon? Trash. Random electronics? Trash.

Our local distribution center is 21 miles away and they often deliver overnight on orders placed late afternoon or early evening.

As to quality, I'm seeing a lot of "stores" for things I could buy direct from the seller (food, imported soaps, even appliance parts) that are tied into the Amazon delivery system. only direct from Amazon saves shipping costs and returns are much easier.

My husband has ordered tires from them because there was no local source. When one was lost shipping, they replaced it quickly, Others were just slightly wrong, exhang done easily.

For us it's at least a gallon of fuel each way to town, not to mention trying to find something in a store that said they had it when we phoned in advance. Only to get there and they can't find it either.
Fuel and wear and tare on the car and on us. We hate to waste time in traffic jams. Much less looking for something in a box store where (if it's there, they've misfiled it and will never find it ).

Dang. I got a delivery this morning 2 hours after it was placed. Great experience for me.

Same one as me pretty sure.

I haven't done any of the grocery add ons yet. I usually do Kroger pickup for that.

I think the issue is people rely on Amazon for too much shite, and then complain when service or quality drops.
Use it for the main needs and check vendors for quality and reviews, and it works great.
I am skeptical on Prime. I'm getting to where I dont see the value. Remember, it was created originally to SIGNIFICANTLY drop ship times and prices. Now, it all has gotten better and therefore makes prime not as essential. Not that prime regressed

Might be because there's a big distribution center less than 10 miles away.

Same situation, Ive found though lately that the only "reliable" option is if it's something that I can get same day delivery or at worst next day delivery through prime. Just about every other order that says will be delivered 3-5 days out ends up being delayed.

Just have to be way more selective with what I order now days if there is any time crunch on my end

A lot of it depends on the pool of potential employees in your area.

A lot of people in this thread are recommending Walmart+ - we use them at work and they absolutely suck. I don’t think they’ve ever gotten to us on time or the correct items the first time - and I’m not talking about grocery delivery.

I don’t have any issues. In fact, they seem to be getter faster. Most things are available and delivered next day. I guess it helps to live in a major city.

I don't want to thread jack, but I bought a HP Photosmart D7620 many years ago, like when that woman took over. I'm not misogynistic if one is capable and can grow a company.

That piece of shite was the epiphany of pieces of shite. Constant updates, ink changes. I probably printed a dozen pictures with substantial poorer quality than the Canon it replaced. I used it less than 20 times.

I should just throw it in the trash, but that's not ecologically "friendly".

I have been using Walmart more than Amazon... There are things that I can get at Walmart and no where else.. So when I do order I include other things that I need.. The deliveries are a lot faster. I don't have the Walmart+ because I always get the free shipping because it is over $35.. What benefits do you get with the Walmart+ that is worth the price?

I laugh at Amazon with the Prime BS deliveries.. They tell you will get it faster if you have Prime.. But no matter if you have it or not they ship it 2 days before the estimated arrival... So in reality they are just holding on to your package until the last minute..

I've never had an issue with prime. I also don't buy anything from shite vendors. 70% of my purchases are repeat purchases.
