I was recently diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. I've been constantly tired regardless of how much sleep I get for a while now, and that's even with me taking 70mg Vyvanse in the morning and 20mg Adderall in the afternoon.

I'm waiting to hear from the company that's going to set me up with my CPAP machine. Just wondering if any of you have it and how much of a difference you've noticed after getting a CPAP?

Also...it's not because I'm overweight. I'm 6'1 and 185lbs.

ETA: Guys, can you focus on the sleep apnea and not my medication?

Huge difference.

Better rest, more energy, MUCH less snoring

It works

I use a CPAP and it’s great. Takes some getting used to but will help your apnea

You should chill out on the Vyvanse tho

I don’t, but my dad and brother in law each have one.

It’s life-changing. I can’t recommend it enough.

Get it, use it, and rejoice.

I wish I wasn't fat and wish I didn't need it, but it's a night and day difference. I went from nodding off within an hour of waking up, to feeling great

I was lucky that i didn't take but a few days to adjust, but just be warned it does take some people a while to get used to it

What company?

I would strongly urge everyone to steer clear of Apria Healthcare should that name come up in your treatment. My brother is on CPAP and it's helped him a lot, but this Apria Healthcare company is a bad company. Fraudulent even.

Jesus Christ man....Look I am a big dude and 50mg made me feel like I was on meth, if that's what being on meth felt like. I can't imagine anything higher than that.

CPAP is the best invention since sliced bread. Makes a world of positive difference. I even use my CPAP for an afternoon nap. If my power goes out i still put the mask on as I am so used to sleeping with the mask, I can't sleep without it. Good luck and thank the Dr. that diagnosed you.

Look guys, I don't respond to lower doses. I've even had a Genesight test and it confirmed that I metabolize amphetamines faster than the average person, hence why I need the higher dose.

I appreciate the concern, fellas. But my doctor and I know what we're doing.

Do you monitor your heart while taking that many stimulants a day? Your blood pressure is probably constantly elevated.

When I took Vyvanse daily my heart was racing even when I was laying down. I couldn’t sleep because my body was constantly in fight or flight mode.

Huge difference.

I didn't even know my sleep apnea was that bad until I did a sleep test. Turns out, even though I was getting a full 8 hours of sleep and don't recall waking up during the night more than 1-2 times, that I was actually not achieving rem sleep for most of the night.

The test revealed that I stopped breathing a ton of times throughout the night, which caused me to start gasping for air. Even though it wouldn't "wake me", it was still kicking me out of my restorative sleep.

Took me a while to figure out why I was always tired and wanting to go to sleep at 5 PM all the time

not a doc but that seems like a lot of stims to be ingesting everyday, i imagine its still in your system when you try to go to bed. when i was prescribed and took daily, i would usually have to drink quite a bit to fall asleep for a few hours, was not a healthy routine
