You mean that plastic wasteland in Lacassine that started being built before Rita?

Never.

Going.

To.

Happen.

I actually DO have sources on this one, and I can tell you straight up that the idiot who owns the place has been at odds with the water plant that he would need and it's simply never going to happen. The stories I've heard about this thing are mid-boggling...

And hell, even if he COULD get water to it, the chances of it being shut down for one violation or another would be at or near 100% within 6 months.

Apparently the guy did it as a do it yourself thing. Got almost done and figured out there are all kinds of building codes that have to be met for a waterpark. Would cost millions to get it up to code so not happening.

Pretty sad. This is Merica. If a baw wants to build an unsafe waterpark let him.

Mazen owns it...Mazen's restaurant and a few other places...hes the owner. Pays ALL cash, no debt and was building at his own pace. Parish tried fricking him over water supply, like millions to run a pipe under I10. So he dug his own well and told them to pound sand.
Since then, the permitting has ground to a halt. The state is fricking with this guy and we (Louisiana) will pay dearly when he Sue's, and he will.

You should Google. They literally say he needs to change a water fixture in the restroom to qualify and pass inspection, then they return MONTHS later and tell him he's not up to code and needs to change it back.

He'll be open in the near future, maybe next spring. But again, he has no debt on the place.
It may be in his best interest to let them prolong it because the lawsuit grows daily. And so does public support.

Yeah, on his Facebook he’s been pretty open about the issues he’s had with permits and stuff.

It’ll be interesting to see how the whole ordeal turns out.

Sorry, I can't on this one. That's a small community over there and it would almost certainly make its way back and I don;t want to cause grief for the person who told me all this stuff...and honestly, he'd certainly know so there's no question in the information.

Suffice it to say, the guy that was doing it counted a shite ton of chicken before they had hatched, tried to cut a ton of corners and then was upset when the one thing he needed for his venture, water, was almost impossible to acquire in the quantity he would need, etc. It's laughable how badly this thing was attempted.
