Any updates on the Directv/Disney negotiations?

I’m running out of free trials to watch games.

Drop DirecTV and get YouTube Tv

The clown in the red shirts are still out on the neutral ground on Bonnabel in Metairie. Well, maybe not right now with the world about to end….

It’s likely to drag out for some time.
DirectTv filed an official complaint with the FCC. Government moves slowly and add in the pending election which will likely affect the future of the regulatory framework…
look for a new deal around June.

I’m curious as to why most everyone prefers YouTube over Hulu Live. The live offerings are essentially the same, plus all of ESPN+ and Disney+ (kids) bundled in with Hulu.
Do Yttv users get ESPN+ also? Or is it just the live channels (which we basically don’t watch any of) are so much more or better?

It costs more and I wouldn't use ESPN+ or D+ enough to justify the cost.
And YouTubeTv has 4 way split screen which is awesome

It all depends on your situation and what you want to watch. Disney is pushing their bundles hard to try and make up for the revenue loss they had over the years on the entertainment side so you may save there. YTTV does have a better interface for the most part, but Hulu's isn't awful. The only thing YTTV has over the competition is Multiview, but you'll need a larger TV for it to be worth it.
Just be aware that what's happening to DirecTV is coming to YTTV and others as well since Disney is trying to force providers into an all or nothing scenario. People seem to be dismissing this. Guarantee you they will just raise their prices instead of fighting it.

I had both. Hulu Lives guide is easier to negotiate but unless you just use your phone for travel, you can’t watch Hulu live anywhere but your house with one move per year.
YouTube TV offers multi screen / unlimited screens for a little more but you can tell them you’re traveling and watch on just about any device while traveling.
YouTube tv also has multi view feature where you can watch 4 games at once. Also they have Sunday ticket if you’re into NFL. It’s literally what DirecTV used to be a few years ago.

It’s 2024. Why would you still pay for DirectTV when YouTube TV exists? Unless you live somewhere without internet it doesn’t make sense.

I would be surprised if this drags out very long. DTV will basically go bankrupt without ESPN. Disney would lose a ton of revenue if DTV was to fold.

Because I'm not giving YouTube a fricking dime.

The ESPN+ app on Hulu has multiview now.

YoutubeTV & the Hulu Live TV bundle are the same price. You get more with the Hulu bundle tho

Yup. I’m not starting to wonder if it would just be better to go back to cable. This constant carousel of streaming services is a real bitch.

My issue is at my hunting lodge, where the internet is basically dial up slow. I have to have Direct TV.

I just did the XM thing on their chat and got both a discount for this bill and $60 off for the next year.

DirecTV stream is where it's at. There are enough workarounds to get around the espn/abc issue and like someone else said, it's coming to the other streaming services at one point or another. Outside of being able to watch 4 games at once, YouTube tv is garbage. I'm gonna give Hulu a try for their free trial this week while I keep bouncing from free trial to free trial, but so far nothing is in the same stratosphere as Directv stream.

The first cable company that offers an a la carte channel service will take off.
I haven’t checked what Cox is charging for cable, but I can’t imagine it’s much more than what YTTV or Hulu or any streaming service is charging.
