Going to dinner and would like to enjoy a couple beers or cocktails.
Here's an idea: don't. Enjoy your dinner without the alcohol. I promise you're not missing anything.

Never hurt me but it did somehow make my infections worse

Is this some indirect way of letting us know you’re being treated for an STI?
Are you going to post the obligatory Don’t care, had sex” meme now?

Probably going to dinner with the tramp (or dude) that gave it to him.

“Bactrim can inhibit acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, which is largely responsible for alcohol metabolism. If acetaldehyde dehydrogenase is less active, alcohol toxicity can build up and can cause what is known as a disulfiram reaction.” Basically, combining them can cause you to have bright red face, fast heart rate, and low blood pressure. That is not fun at parties.
Fun fact: Disulfiram, also known as Antabuse, is a drug that was once frequently given to alcoholics to prevent them from drinking by making them ill if they do drink. Bactrim in chemically similar and cause the same reaction.

Skip any dose within 12 hours of when you plan to drink, start back dosing the next morning.
This won’t help ... they suggest you don’t drink for a week after you finished taking them

Trying to decide if this one of the BS no alcohol while on antibiotics or if it will truly make me sick.
I don't know about sick but I never drink while on it because I want whatever is wrong to go away. 10 days isn't that long to go without drinking.

I did once. Forgot I wasn’t supposed to drink and had a margarita at Tacos and Beer before a concert. Immediately started feeling terrible. Spent most of the concert in the bathroom trying not to throw up and when I was able to get to my seat finally I couldn’t stand up without feeling like I was going to pass out, and I was dizzy and lightheaded the whole time.
I wouldn’t do it again.

Made that mistake twice. Once, as a test to see if drinking on Antibuse was a bad as described. It was worse.
Second time, I hadn’t taken a does of antibuse in 3 days, figured I was good to go. Half an Abita Amber in, I realized I was far from “good to go”. I stopped before it got real bad but I still puked.
Don’t play with that stuff. I’d rather die than drink alcohol on antibuse.
