to pick up 5 gall buckets? I'll also stop (when possible) to get a good 4x4 or realtor type sign I can use for target practice, my old man (RIP) would be proud.

I got a nice 8 foot ladder one day.

Found more than a few useful things.

What I see most often are tumbleweaves. I've been taking pictures of them to compile one day into a David Attenborough style thread.

I’ve done that to pick up a sledge hammer once.

Picked up 4 buckets and an aluminum canoe paddle this afternoon. All within a couple miles of my house.

Life vests, bags full of decoys, ladders. Wait that's stuff I've lost.

A good 5 gal bucket is a good 5 gal bucket. If this board doesn’t understand that, frick em. They are too soft to understand the big picture.

I picked up a hitchhiker once, and a dead possum, but not at the same time. Some people call them opossums, but I call them possums. I call armadillos armored possums, but I’ve never stopped to pick one up.

In Houston I found a good heavy metal shears that we used ten years later.
More recently twenty ten gallon plant pots were scattered along the US hwy, not heavy traffic. (The size that big transplant trees grow in.) Got 'em all.

Years ago the chairman of the board of one of our local banks was an old guy who never married and lived at his camp out on the lake. All he did was fish, hunt, and make money. Somebody saw him on the side of the road picking up cans one time and said, "you're the richest man in town, why are you picking up cans>" He replied, "that's why I'm rich and you're not."

I only pull off for ladders because ladders are fricking expensive.

And one time for a goose decoy.

On the rare occasion I can get a food grade bucket, it's an even better score. Can be use to store drinking water, food, and everything else.

Some of my best finds are an ice chest, 5 gallon speed gas can, 6’ Werner ladder, and channel locks.

And I’ll slam the brakes on for a milk crate in a heartbeat.

Eta: forgot that one time I stopped on Ambassador in front of Stines to pick up four 10’ 2x6’s. Used those to help build a deer stand.

Found a large tackle box full of spinner baits once off the side of the road. Good times.

If younlive within 30 min of me, don't pick up 5 gallon buckets. Sometimes construction workers shite in them and leave by the road in emergency situations

Saw a suitcase once and stopped to pick it up. Was worth my trouble. That's all I can say about it.
