Looking for anyone that has had wives , or other family members that have been through breast cancer or a breast cancer scare. I found a sizeable lump( 1.5 inches by .5 inch) on her right breast and it is fairly hard to the touch. May be bigger than I am describing. I'm just wondering if it's something that should be looked at by a Dr tomorrow or if it's something that needs certain symptons before being taken seriously. I think she needs to go to a Dr asap! She is hesitant. "It may just go away" SMH!

Go see a Dr. asap, it ain't worth waiting. If it's nothing great, if not then it's better to catch it early.

Good looking chick, but you should've shopped that inbred looking mother fricker out of the picture.

She's scared. Schedule an appointment and go with her. Cancer doesn't just magically go away

Exactly what I've been trying to tell her! And, yeah , I agree that shs is just scared. Her mother told her "well you don't take care of yourself and it is probably nothing". Pissed me off! Are there other things that can cause lumps like that in a womans breast?

Go to a doctor. If it's something it needs to be treated asap. If it's nothing, you'll have peace of mind.

Almost certainly benign but still needs a diagnostic mammogram.

I guess maybe a cyst could form? And Some of those are non cancerous

If there is a lump, as you described, do not hesitate to visit your PCP to get it checked out.

Sometimes people do not want to face the fact they might have cancer. It is very scary. However, the chances of survival drastically increase the sooner you start treatment if this is indeed a malignant tumor.

It is better to be safe than sorry. Sending prayers your way that she has nothing to worry about.

Is she nursing or has she nursed a child lately?

They can get cyst. But she needs to go see someone ASAP. The longer she waits, the worse it will get.

Never had a child. She has this thought in her head that someone once told her that caffeine could cause it (she drinks an ice coffee every day and a Diet Coke if we are out to eat) and that's probably all it is. I'm a lot more concerned than that being how big it is and how hard the lump is. I guess my only reason to not panic (and I'm kind of panicking) is that it has come out of no where. It wasn't there , to my or her knowledge , a week ago. It's like it all of sudden appeared. I don't know if that is how cancer goes or if that's a tell that it is not serious at all. I'm forcing her to go to the Dr tomorrow , just wondering if anyone had any advice that had been through something like this before. Thanks. Appreciate the input.

Well, don't panic too much or you will freak her out. Be sure to tell her that it's likely nothing (not a lie).

Go see the Doctor today. I'm sure it's nothing but better to be safe. My Mom is a breast cancer survivor and is doing great. God bless.

She should Take out a Cancer policy before going to the Dr if possible.

Is that insensitive to say? I didn't mean it to be. It's just expensive and every little bit helps if that's the case.

I'm not sure how that works exactly with insurance, I just know that my SO had one because of a history of Cancer in both sides of her family.

Good luck to her and you.

She has awesome insurance , thankfully. As an owner of 3 funeral homes with a lot of employees , giving the employees first class insurance was a very important thing to her. So, not really worried about the insurance part of it as much as I'm worried about the mental aspect of it for her. She's only 34 years old and it would crush her spirit. Thanks for the serious replies , this place can really be a good place to vent and get good information at times. Again , thanks y'all! I'll update the thread after we see a doctor later today. And appreciate the prayers as well!

No 'or', schedule an appointment ASAP.

If cancerous, it is working its way to a lymph node nearby and then spreading. Brain & lungs are common places for breast cancer to metastasize to.

If this scares you into convincing her to get checked - good.

Don't underestimate your strength or her strength. It's amazing what human beings can deal with when faced with something like this. You two go through this together and, if it's some not great news, be each others rock..

Have them check it out. My mother passed away when I was 12 from breast cancer. Two of my aunts had it also and always got lumps checked out. Please take this matter seriously.
