Are companies known to request another drug test if you get promoted?

This seems amazingly ironic.

Only place I ever worked that drug tested was test to get hired. After that, only other reason they would drug test was for on the job injury because it was required by workers comp.

But I know some companies test randomly. If your company doesn't randomly test, I doubt they'd re-test a current employee whos just being promoted

Seems that if you are good enough to get promoted they don't want to know if you do drugs. You are obviously functioning well. My field is lax though.
