Are there any good transmission shops in Baton Rouge? My wife’s 2016 Ford Escape died on the side of the road this morning. The Ford dealership says they can’t look at it for 2-3 weeks.

Burbank Tire on the corner of Staring and Burbank. Their Transmission guy is top notch.

K&M is the other shop I see mentioned often, I’m not 100% sure if they service transmissions though.

AgCo Automotive, Coursey Blvd, full service shop. Josh is their full-time transmission specialist who was raised doing transmissions as his father owned a transmission shop. Work only by appointment. You sure it’s a transmission issue? They will diagnose the problem, whether it’s transmission or another issue mimicking a transmission issue, before ever pulling a transmission. LINK

Call Jason to make sure they do transmissions - K&M Auto on Siegen

Quickest and most honest mechanics I’ve dealt with and it’s not close.

Trannies-R-Us.

I've never been there personally but I think it's a transmission repair shop.

Slipping or hard shifting/not shifting? I’ve owned a few Fords and a bad coil can feel like transmission is shot. Wouldn’t hurt to pull codes if you have a code reader to make sure it’s not a misfire before you bring it in. Had this happen more than once. Changed out coil and good to go. If it’s slipping that’s another story.

She told me that it made a loud whistling like sound and then lost power and went into what I would call limp mode. The service transmission message came on her dashboard. She was on Jefferson not far from Robinson Brothers so we just had it towed there by road side assistance. The only thing the service advisor could tell me when he called was that it was definitely a transmission issue and they were backed up at least 2-3 weeks before they could even diagnose it. Sounds like either Agco or K and M will treat us right and will diagnose rather than just start with the big ticket repair.
