Hey y'all, it's looking like the hiker has been identified! It hasn't been confirmed yet, but from what I understand, some of his friends recognized him from a "friend of a friends post" somewhere.

I don’t know anything about screeps but can’t believe they couldn’t I’d him with that. Sounds like he use “mostly harmless” as a screeps name.

Thanks... I was just about to post that article.

He hasn't officially been identified by his family or the sheriff, as far as I know. Supposedly, his name got out before his family was notified. :-(

The guy has been MIA at least since his death and probably much longer. I'm pretty sure his family doesn't give a shite.

What a strange story. Dude has parents, a brother and a twin sister. It doesn’t appear that anyone filed a missing person report. The “friends” quoted in the story used nicknames.

“said a female friend from Baton Rouge who asked to be identified as “Marie,”

“I am 100 percent sure,” a former longtime girlfriend of Rodriguez in Louisiana said Tuesday night after viewing trail photos of Harmless for the first time. “I want to help put his identity and who he was to rest,” wrote the woman, who asked to be identified by her nickname, Tuggy.

Despite the identification, some mysteries surrounding the case have deepened. Rodriguez’s parents are alive, along with his twin sister and older brother. He is included in his grandfather’s obituary from this past summer. His family has not responded to requests for comment. A woman Rodriguez once lived with in that Brooklyn apartment said my efforts to identify Mostly Harmless were “misguided.”
“There’s a reason no one reported him missing,” said a former roommate in Baton Rouge, who asked to be identified by his first name, Randall.

Very strange they're not giving names. What the frick happened? Were they running a drug ring?

There is? Was he some type of criminal? Was the BBQ place a money laundering scam and he was a big part of it?

If he was on trails a lot, that’s probably why they didn’t report him missing. There’s no telling how long it had been since they saw him, so they probably didn’t know he was missing. Still, with the pictures being circulated for a while, it seems like they, or somebody close to him would have recognized him sooner.

I've never heard of a restaurant with a full-time IT guy unless it was a megachain. This guy was running from something or someone. Someone needs to investigate that BBQ place.

No kidding. What kind of BBQ place has an IT guy? I want my BBQ from a place that looks like this:

Fairly certain this place doesn't have an IT guy.

It isn't a BBQ place. It is the largest or bear largest online grill dealer. They are based in BR.

company called BBQguys, known then as ShoppersChoice.com.

It’s not a bbq restaurant. It’s a website selling grills. Was called shoppers choice when he worked there.
