Carly Gregg the 14 year old sentenced to life for killing her mom. Were SSRIs to blame?

She's 15 now and after watching the security video on X of her murdering her mom and trying to lure her stepdad home I searched around for more info.
I see drugs mentioned often as a motive but all of the articles ever only mentioned her smoking marijuana vapes.

People want to tie marijuana to everything, it is incredible.
Smoking MJ does not make you go to your room, grab a pistol, hide it behind your sweater then shoot your mom while she is sleeping.
Neither do SSRIs. Will you feel like shite, yes. Head fricked up some, yes. Not normal, yes.
Pick up a gun, hide it behind your back, look at the camera in the kitchen, shoot your mom while she is sleeping, no. They dont make you do that.
This girl is Evil/Sick. She needs help.

If true, it's yet more evidence to keep your kids off of SSRIs and maybe out of public schools. Almost every school shooter has been on SSRIs at some point.

She looks off. Like way off. But if you watch the video on Twitter, she knew what she was doing. Cold as hell. Snuck up on her mom and then went back in the kitchen petting the dogs. Was the medication partly or all to blame, who knows. But you can’t make me believe she didn’t understand/know what she was doing

I wont dispute that.
The come down off of an SSRI is BRUTAL if youve never detoxed or do not know what to expect.
These kids all stopped taking their meds.

And basically any doctor can prescribe. Them. Only a select few can help you get off them.

I tried to go completely clean 2.5 years after I stopped drinking/drugging so I stopped my Lexapro.

Lexapro/escitalopram is the left handed version of Celexa/citalopram. Could have been done to increase potency of what’s supposed to be the beneficial part without increasing side effects caused by other version. Without increasing dosage of the active medication/molecule’s left handed version it doesn’t seem like it would be a huge initial change.
I thought I had remembered this as being trans/they related. The daughter was mad her mom didn’t accept her chosen gender and pronouns. I might be mixing this up with one of the other murders by trans which are increasing as they are being told their choice is no different than being born that way.

SSRIs aren't given to normal functioning people. There is quite clearly an underlying issue they're trying to treat. I won't say they may not be contributory, but mentally whack is still whack.

Gregg didn't. She was taking only 5mg of Lexapro a day. Doc put her on a starter pack as she weaned her off the other medication
