Some lessons are hard. Hope she learns from something from this one.
All very true, but she didn't learn anything good from it. At the very end of the video she basically said she'd do it again.

Technological high schools usually tend to be either the dumbest high schools or the smartest high schools, with little in between. And actually there are about 10 dumb technological high schools for every smart technological high school.
It's similar with technological colleges. Georgia Tech and especially Cal Tech are very respected. But for every Georgia Tech and Cal Tech, there are about 10 dumb technological colleges.

Despite the controversy, Campbell is focused on her future. The 18-year-old graduated with a 3.5 GPA and plans to attend Georgia State University this fall, where she will major in Business Administration. A longtime dancer and cheerleader, she also hopes to join a dance team while in college.
As for the split that sparked the debate, Campbell says she stands by her decision.
"I hope everyone stay true to themselves and never change for anybody," she said.

I like that the school did this, but is it really legal?
They can certainly refuse to give it to her during the ceremony.
But “withholding it until she comes up with a way to rectify it” or whatever they’re saying isn’t a thing and sounds goofy. She completed the credits. She is owed the diploma.
Now, I’m all in favor of the school figuring out a way to make receipt of said diploma as inconvenient as possible (maybe mail it in a month or something). But I’m pretty sure they can’t just withhold it forever.

Agree. She completed the course requirements of the State of Illinois.
Kick her out of the ceremony and let her come pick it up.

I’m sure there also isn’t a rule that says you can’t strip down naked
I'm almost positive there are.

Pretty sure that's the definition of "rules"...

They’ve never had any accountability. They just walk through life with no discipline, no repercussions so they just do whatever the hell they want. Then when somebody tries to hold them accountable, they go nuts and get indignant. They’re like infants who have never outgrown the ID phase of development. The only thing they care about is instant gratification. And don’t nobody tell me what I can’t do!

This queen is finally being introduced to the concept of consequence.

If she would have done some goofy dance move and stayed on her feet, it would have been no big deal. The whole doing a split and some music video thrusting simulation ... that's a nope.

Had one here locally in NC that didn't get her diploma because her acceptance speech was about ICE and need to support Gaza, Congo, and that BS. You can find out about it on WRAL news if curious.

We did receive rules, but the rules had nothing to do with what you can and cannot do while you walk across the stage," she said. "There wasn't any written rule about what you can and cannot do."
Once again, every rule that has been passed and restriction on activities is to deal with the bottom quartile of the general public.

It'a high school diploma. Who fricking cares. Let them keep it, you still graduated
