First downvote. If you have to ask, you're too poor to join.

Member at both
NOCC is superior on every level. Slightly snootier.

La Tour is the answer you seek

I used to work at Bissonet in Metairie...I have no idea how that place got away with calling itself a "country club"

This should be fun. Grassman and maybe one or two other posters are the only ones that could even get onto New Orleans CC.
Even people like me can get on at Metairie.

Ville Platte Country Club is better than both

NOCC. Old money, smells of mothballs and people trying to keep up appearances afther the family fortune has dissipated.
MCC. New money, gauche. Bushwood without the charm.

Except for the neighborhood.

I'm sure there are plenty others, who don't wear it on their screen name sleeves so to speak.
I'm not one, of course.

There are ghetto houses with yards that overlook NOCC's course from what I can see. It blows my mind.

I’ve been there a few times for Mardi Gras functions.
Do they still have the men’s only grill(or was it a poker room)?

If you have the money, 8 times out 10 MCC will let you in. NOCC requires money and the right family.

Never been to NOCC but the facilities at MCC are pretty nice with the recent renos they've done. The neighborhood is light years better as well.
Their golf course sucks though.

MCC used to have a little room off the lobby where you could sit and use a house telephone, or discretely smoke pot.

Men's Grill, but during certain days/times families can dine there.

TPC and English Turn are both better in terms of golf course quality. Which isn't saying much since SE Louisiana golf isn't much to write home about anyway.
