An aquatinace just told me she paid cash for her daughter's car.

Only if it’s relevant, like if someone is talking about student loans and asks if we have any. I don’t just voluntarily talk about paying for other random things in cash, although I do as often as possible if it affords me a discount.

I paid cash for my kid's first car. All $2400 of it. Not to brag or anything.

Me too. I wait until the cashier tells me the total until I get my checkbook out of my pocket.

It’s always funny how there’s that little pause.

“Yup. Paid 4k for it….. cash.”

I finance everything but I’m a retard.

I have a spending problem and if I want it bad enough I’ll just finance it if the rates are decent vs waiting to pay cash.

Hell I’d probably still buy stuff on layaway if I could

Absolutely not. Discussing such matters is poor form.

I say, schucks, I’m going to need to pull some items out. I’m over my limit. Which ones was on sale?

Only if paying cash gets you a discount and my friend is looking to get some work done. For example tree service, landscaping and other stuff like that

Who the hell cares? I don’t know why anyone would volunteer such info, but I don’t understand why anyone would take issue with it either.

I've begun doing that at every establishment that charges a 3% credit card fee.

I break out the checkbook, stare at it for a few seconds then slowly start writing. If they want to charge me a "convenience" fee, I make it as inconvenient as possible.

I don’t disclose that I paid cash for my wife’s car. I also don’t let people know that I’m retired, wealthy, and extremely good looking.
