Day 1,460: I’ve gained their trust and they’ve accepted me as part of the herd, the elk still don’t suspect a thing.

Donkeys always like a companion. I suspect this one was all alone in his pasture and he had enough.

He was actually captured by the elks. He was young so as he grew they became his family. At some point he will get caught between his birth family of donkeys and his adopted, free living elks.

Eventually he will have to fight the donkeys to reclaim his lands, title, and birth right. One day elk and donkeys will live freely and in peace amongst each other on Diesel, son of Diesel's lands.

Those elk are smart as hell for brining that donkey into the fold. A donkey will frick up a coyote or other predators looking to attack the herd.

The back story is pretty cool. The guy that owns that donkey looked for it for a long time. He was very relieved when this became known to know his arse not only was alive but doing well.

Losing my horse while hunting is my #1 concern when I haul horses out there. It’s a big, big world out west.

I've driven all over Wyoming, and that looks NOTHING like Wyoming.

Edit: And I was right. It's California

Those elk probably love that donkey. Ever see a donkey get after a coyote or wolfs. That donkey will get after predators.

I've often seen donkeys in a pasture with horses, but not with cows. I've heard that they will attack snakes, racoons, armadillos and coyotes.

Any farmers here that could explain why they are not in cow pastures?
