Have a fun filled day of I30, I20, I49, and 190 in store and wondering if there are any good stops for scenery or food along the way? Anything in Alexandria? Bunkie? Krotz Springs? Wondering if I take the scenic route through LA so I get to know the smaller towns.

Otis recommended Billy's in Opelousas so I'll add that stop. Thanks

I recommended Kartschner's over Billy's. I find they have more meat and Better spice

The adult video store in Terrell at I-20/US-80 split about 30 miles east of Dallas.

Take a slight detour to Port Barre, just east of Opelousas, and get some cheese bread from Bourque's Superstore.

I'm kind of interested in how the hell you found that place, but not sure I can stomach the details.

Once in Louisiana:
1. French Market Express in Natchitoches for baked goods, pies, doughnuts, their meat pies are pretty good, too.

2. Once on U.S.190, Bourque's in Port Barre for sausage and, jalapeño cheese bread.

3. To avoid the speed trap that is Krotz Springs, slow down for Billy's if you don't hit the Billy's in Opelousas. I see someone also mentioned Kartchner's, we have never stopped there, but I have heard nothing but great things, and, it will be on your right, so easier to get to.

Enjoy your trip.

Looks like you'll be driving on past your destination then.

I lived in Dallas for two years after college. You pass right by it when you take US80 to/from Dallas(I-20 goes to the south side of Dallas). I'm not THAT big of a perv.

Rabb's in Ruston, but if you cut down at Shreveport you will miss it.

He is leaving from Dallas, I am sure Bucees doesn't excite him like it used to.

to the OP, if you are not in a hurry, i49 is not scenic...but you could go I20 to Highway 425 east of Monroe and hit ARchibald, Baskin, and Clayton, and Ferriday, Jumping the river at Natchez and go 61 south and hit Woodville MS, and St Franciville LA.

When you get to 190 make sure you actually slow down to 45 MPH in those 4 sections where the speed drops (one being Krotz Springs - glad to see you're already stopping at Billy's)... Krotz Springs and Livonia being the bigger speed traps of the 4 but they are all speed traps. Always cops waiting for someone going 50.

Stop in Natchitoches. Go to Front Street which will be about 5 miles from the exit. Walk the river. There are some cool shops on the riverfront and a few good restaurants
