You’re buying a vehicle that gets an average of 14mpg. No need for a gas guzzler tax as your stupid tax is probably paid daily.

Pretty sure that's been on new vehicles since cash for clunkers

It's only been around for the last 30 years or so.

Since 1991, consumers have paid the Gas Guzzler Tax on every new car purchased or leased with an unadjusted combined EPA fuel economy rating less than 22.5 miles per gallon (mpg). This only applies to cars, not pickups, vans, or SUVs. The maximum tax for cars with fuel economy ratings less than 12.5 mpg is $7,700. Most of the models that are assessed the tax are sports cars or luxury models.

You should've circled the MSRP instead. Way more outrageous.

I drive a fricking 2011 chevy malibu that gets like 20 mpg. Hilarious that I'm subjected to a "gas guzzler" tax.

Been around for a long time. And if you're really look at a new GT500 you don't care about that.

Nice car! Yes, that’s been around awhile. I paid $2200 GG tax on my car in 2018. What pisses me off is I can get 29mpg on the hwy at 70mph on cruise control.
