Cheapest gas in America right here in Longmont CO. Crazy! 100s of cars waiting in line.
This intersection in Firestone, CO has 4 gas stations that have been in a price war for over a year and they often have the cheapest gas in the country.
Yesterday it got down to $0.99!
Average gas price in the US is $3.60.

That first number is definitely burnt out.

People are so dumb. I'll pay $40 more to not have to sit in line all day to buy gas.

Idk about $40, but when I do the math I realize that 20 cents more is like $4 per tank and I'll just pay it rather than wait.

This.
Ill pass up costco and pay 30 cents more a gallon if it means I dont have to wait in line for 5-10 min

Gas turns people into retards. People will burn gas driving across town to pay 15 cents less that saves them $2.

hmmm. I’ll wait for Paul Harvey to give us the rest of this story.

It's better to burn out than to fade away.

I’ll admit to this. Not obsessively frugal on anything other than gas. No clue why, don’t even care to put any more thought into it, I just see low gas prices and I’ll cause a 17 car pileup cutting across 4 lanes to get it

The only time it's worth changing your habits for is if you're routinely filling up multiple times a week. A .$25 difference on a 30 gallon tank with 6 fills per month...
$45 measly bucks in savings.
My budget ain't that tight.

My time is worth more than an additional $0.08 per gallon more that I’ll spend not sitting in a line 10 cars deep at Costco.

A while back I remember a certain prominent poster unironically said that wealthy people are wealthy because they cross shop gasoline and don't just settle for whatever is convenient.
For whatever reason that stuck with me as one of the dumber things I've read on this website

They are surly dumb to drop prices like that. Now the rest of USA will want that price and say the other guys are making money with $1 gas.

No chance they're turning a profit at 99 cents a gallon.
I always fill up at Sam's Club, which is the cheapest gas in the area, but it's on the way to my kid's school and my bank. I ain't going out of my way for it.

The majority of gas stations break even, if not close to it. Gas isn't where they make money. They just want you in the lot so you'll come inside for snacks and drinks at a 400% markup.
