There was a time the LSBA effectively policed its own, those days are over.
LA is a mandatory Bar Association state and the association just collects its mandatory fee every year and then does...nothing. They do put out a nice glossy magazine every month. Bout it.

Not enough industry in Louisiana to completely ignore the Plaintiff’s bar anymore.
Because the plaintiff attorneys chased them all off.

The constant inflamed state of everyone's butthole about trail lawyers and billboards make the masses more malleable to outrageous rate increases. "Well, they didnt want to have increase rates 60% this year but those pesky trial lawyers....."

States have tort reform all the time. Here are the 2023 measures from the American Tort Reform Association. Yes, that’s a real thing. Who do you think funds that?
LINK
Click around the site. It’s a well-organized and well-funded organization pushing various tort reform measures around the country.
Have as much vitriol for the gecko as you do for Gordon.

I'm not certain the point you're making. I was hinting at tort reform. Am I missing something in your post?

...auto carriers in Louisiana collected $1.4 billion more in premiums than insurers in any other state.”
Louisiana has some of the highest auto insurance premiums in the country, so this statement can still be true AND prove Jeff Landry is a moron. Now do how much the insurers have to pay of in claims/lawsuits.
quote:
“Liability coverage in Louisiana is twice as expensive as in Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi,” Landry said. “Our citizens are paying 25% more than drivers in Texas. That tells us something is clearly wrong.”
Well, no sh!t, Jeff!

Louisiana Republicans are basically just the old Dixiecrats. Up until the last cycle, most of the GOP members in the house was made up of boomers who switched parties. A lot of those guys are in the Senate now.
Louisiana would be a purple state if abortion and "woke" weren't such huge issues.

Its the plaintiff lawyers...period. Get rid of ridiculous lawsuits and chiropractors leading medical care and you may get somewhere.

Every auto and homeowner insurers in Louisiana is losing money. The larger insurers sorta consider it the cost of doing business as a national insurer. They make up most of the losses selling life insurance. No Gordon for Life insurance claims.
We should set up mandatory state ran arbitration for all insurance disputes before attorneys start suing and collecting.

We just moved to Mississippi. Our auto and homeowners insurance has dropped significantly.

Special interests are really killing a lot in this country, but plaintiffs attorneys have been doing tons of damage as well and reform is well past due. No one bats an eye when people are legitimately injured and get fair awards, but we’ve soared well past that where any injury/slight is looked upon as a lottery ticket. That’s the mentality that needs to change, not only in this state, but across the country. I was involved in a very minor fender bender and I had a person attempt to sue me who wasn’t even involved in the accident (he just heard about it from his friend) and decided to jump in.
Why won’t the plaintiffs bar police their own and seek to end these frivolous claims/stop advertising themselves as lottery tickets?
They bitch and moan and get upset that people see them as schysters, but it’s their own fault.
