How much do you think Gordon McKernan is worth? He seems to always be on vacation in some luxurious place and spending a fortune on advertising. He’s got to be incredibly wealthy.

He looked good in the latest 444-4444 commercial though

Smoke and mirrors.
The insurance companies have a choke hold on the state. They pay politics a crap load of money to be able to do what they want to

Nobody ever actually explains- is there anything that is actually different about the laws in Louisiana than someplace like Texas? And like I said before, Texas has huge verdicts sometimes
The difference is in Texas if the claim is over $20,000, then it would go to a jury. Shitty lawyers don’t want to do that for small amounts like $25-50K, especially when they know it’s bull shite. It will cost them more and they might not win.
In shitty LA that number is $50,000. Every insurance company knows they will never win against any judge in this state so every personal injury attorney will want just $50k for the frivolous lawsuit knowing they will win 100% of the time.
That’s why we have a shite ton more frivolous lawsuits.

I didn’t have high hopes for Landry to start but he has been very disappointing
How many “conservative” governors in this country are attacking business and not attorneys?
Huey P Landry is no conservative
We tried telling y’all this.

Louisiana changed that to $10,000 like five years ago. So, that's lower than Texas.

And he won’t do anything to fix the problem. The governor is an attorney… just like the 5 governors before him. As long as every commercial is an accident attorney, and billboards everywhere saying call if have been in a wreck….. nothing will ever change.

I know it may not be constitutional but if they could Eliminate attorney advertising the world would be a better place ! I agree insurance companies are evil especially with property insurance but the auto insurance is all on the billboard attorneys and lawsuit culture

How do you figure this? Don’t you realize the same bad actors are ruining that homeowners market as well? Plaintiffs attorneys and a sue happy populous. Some times insurance companies act in bad faith, BUT how many times are homeowners trying to scam the insurance companies?
An idiotic/uneducated electorate is probably the leading cause of all these problems.

You do realize they took everything with teeth out of the bill that was passed to avoid the governor’s veto…
They could have called it what ever they wanted. Just because the package was called “tort reform” doesn’t mean shite about it’s true intentiins
