Laughing the other day about going into the Piggly Wiggly with no shoes. Thus the term “grocery store feet”

In the 80's I was taught that only serial killers picked up hitchhikers and that the only people that hitchhiked were serial killers. Seemed like a tense situation with both of them trying to get the jump on the other.

One thing everybody who was alive during the 1970s can agree on: The entire decade still feels like it only happened yesterday.

Good post, but i gotta disagree with the line i quoted above.. i was a little kid in the 1970s, and to me it seems like eons ago.. like, it seems like a different lifetime .

That's a later model. The originals had wood grain and no button on top of the joystick.

I had one of the first ones in town. Played Space Invaders until 5AM Christmas morning. (Opened presents on Xmas Eve.)

I remember a skating rink that I attended in the early 70s having a hand lettered poster up that said "No smoking under 15." I don't think it was enforced.

anybody remember laying across the back dashboard of a moving car? My Dad's LTD had a back dashboard you could serve dinner on. The trunk could house a family of squatters.

I remember all of them...great times. Technology accelerated the pace of life amd social media has ruined personable interaction. That doesn't mean bad things didn't happen like Vietnam, Watergate, gasoline "shortages", etc. But the general population it seems were more civil which made those things easier to deal with to some degree.
