Is there some giant handbook they all carry around? A standard code that is universal? Da fuq UPS tell your secrets

The company usually gets a code from the property. I wanted to get some of those UPS socks so I decided to ask the delivery guy how to get some. Said they are pretty tight with the uniforms due to it being enough to walk around a bank and go in places most people would/should get questioned. It never occurred to me where that uniform would let you in.

It was just something I never took the time to think about. I'm guessing most people are the same way. The UPS uniform is just as powerful as it is sexy...

I learned last night that cops have a master key to all gated communities.
Crazy.
Crazy.

At apartments I lived in, deliveries buzzed the front office and they let them in. Deliveries didn't happen when the front office wasnt open.

What's special about UPS socks? Match your cargo shorts?

Well what did you expect? Are cops just suppose to sit outside the gate when responding to an emergency?

Got to separate myself from all the other cargo short wearing folks somehow.

As far as police, ambulance and fire--most of the gated places that you have to use a keypad to call someone to let you in also have a fire/police button that you can press. Then you have to activate your siren and the noise registers to open the gate.
Something else I'd never thought of until I saw it in action.

We have about 5 to 6 pages of gate codes. We make copies and pass them out, to all the drivers.

Your POC (point of contact) person lets you know
I go into 'secure' places all over S.La everyday, there's a procedure

In reality if it's a large complex they just wait for someone who lives there to come in and they tag behind. It usually doesn't take very long or they call the person to get buzzed in.

I don't know about UPS but I work for an oil and fuel delivery company and the dispatcher has everything in his computer and prints it on the delivery tickrts

I used to live in a gated apartment here in Metairie and the gate stayed open until 5 pm. UPS would come about 6 and I could never get my packages. It was a fricking pain. I would check tracking and it would say I wasnt home even though I was.
