How do sugar ants just appear from out of nowhere?

No trail of ants, and after the initial group is wiped out there are to take their place seemingly from out of thin air.

Yeah I don't get fruit flies either. I know I learned about in like 3rd grade but WTF?

spontaneous generation.

They're fricking amazing. Been dealing with these bastards for a couple weeks. Damn near microscopic then I'll pick up a coffee cup and see a speck running across the rim. They also come out of my laptop keyboard every now and then.

Had a sugar ant problem a few months ago. Bought some ant spray and set it where the ants had been coming from. They immediately relocated without me ever spraying and have never been back

I haven't seen them in like a year. Daughter drops a trix on the floor from breakfast and in less than an hour, poof about 50 covering it. I don't know where they come from.

If this is accurate and not hyperbole, you have an infestation.

Well you just made my day even better.

Phew! Had some other day. Thought it might have meant I was trashy, but since you OT ballers have them, I'm good. Will have my valet take care of them immediately

If you have them, it's going to be a bitch to kill them off and takes a pro. If you spray them, it splits the nest. Every time you spray, you just spread them. There is a special way in treating for them.

They are the most intelligent of all ants as you can tell from this thread.
1. Sit down and have a talk with them
2. Love them -it is the American Way
3. Offer them money, lots of it in unmarked bills
4. Deny you did the above

Toro ant killer works great on sugar ants. Can get it at Home Depot. Used it for years. Comes in a liquid. Put a few drops on their cardboard holder. The ants come get it and take it back. Refill the drops once a day for a few days and they'll be gone.

Let me tell you bout the birds and the ants...

One of my coworkers has been dealing with crazy ants. I'm not familiar with them, but they sound terrible.

they have a certain poison that you can get at home depot lowes or walmart. You set out the fruity liquid and they're attracted to it. The poison doesn't kill them immediately but allows them to return to the nest and distribute it among the nest and then kills all of them
