How do you deal with a biting baby at daycare?

Our one year old boy has twice been bitten by another girl (20 months old) in the past couple of months. The second time it happened my wife and I blew a gasket and the daycare folks promised to keep our son and the biting girl separate. Today that girl bit another boy in the daycare on the face. When I went to pick up my kid I saw it and it was pretty bad.
Just wondering, what are the roles and responsibilities of the people running the daycare and the parents of the biting toddler?
We are also concerned about our little one starting to bite when he gets older. How do you nip that in the bud?

Tell your son to bite back. That little bitch won't do it again.

shite happens. Kids are quick. One minute they're playing, the next, one is biting.
Our daughter (17 months) has been on both ends of it. The "teacher" can't be on top of every kid all of the time.

Follow the father to the parking lot and tune his ace up

Some daycares have policies to deal with repeat offenders. Friends kids went to one where if after normal behavioral processes were followed at daycare the child was still overly aggressive with biting or whatever, the kid was kicked out. Parents were responsible.

You don't bring your kid to a daycare in Lakeview do you? My kid got bit by a girl for the first time a couple of days ago. I didn't get too upset though cause he was okay and I'd hate for that shoe to be on the other foot one day.

I'm not gonna give you the "normal" OT answer. We pay a lot of money for daycare every month and when my child was a in that stage I was pissed the first time it happen to him. He later got in the in that stage so I felt bad for the other parents. Bottom line is it's gonna happen and they will do everything they can do to stop it but it will still happen. Until they get in the next level it will continue to happen.

Just get over it.
Fact of kid life, it'll pass soon.

kid bit me so I threw rocks at his face and dirt in his eyes.

If you take your kid to the pediatrician, the Dr is obligated to make a report. It isolates you from the conflict.

It happened all the time
If you want more then quit your job and watch the kid

You blew a gasket??? Ever watch multiple infant/toddlers?? I haven't and won't. But if I did I'm sure bites would happen. Chill out it happens. Happened to both our kids. Eventually yours will bite someone too. If I had to bet you were either on receiving end or giving out bites way back when. You turned out alright didn't you? Now if that 20 month old shows up to daycare with a gun you need to have a talk with someone.... Maybe even blow that gasket again. Relax

Baby no longer mess with me.

This must be your first child.
By the third you will just be glad your kid did not bite anyone this week.
It goes both ways, but does not last long.

ou blew a gasket?
It was bad enough that we had to take him to ER because the skin broke where he got bit.
It's our first kid man, so we don't know what the protocol is with daycares or what the right expectations are. Take it easy.
