$235 jeans aren’t even top end in the selvedge denim market. You can easy double and triple that.
$400 for a pair of rackets that you simply can’t repair or restring is something that gives me pause since my son and his friends are goofy and often careless.

Hit as hard as you want. They do wear out over time but usually takes hundred+ hours of intense play. Although new thermoformed paddles like the Legacy Pro (Montgomery based company) sometimes become delaminated with limited use, actually causing far harder/faster hits than normal.
Plenty of excellent $100 carbon fiber options like https://vaticpro.com/collections/paddles

I feel like you keep calling them rackets as a troll, but I’ll answer anyway.
If it’s a unibody design, then it’s going to be very hard to break. If it’s not, then you may have an issue with the handle snapping where it connects to the head of the paddle.
ETA: you should’ve definitely gone with a Vatic Pro Prism V7 or Flash for about half of the price of the Diadem Warrior Edge

All I know is that I'm glad those weren't a thing when I was a kid.

Seems closer to tennis than it is to ping pong. I guess racket implies a string surface and paddle is a solid surface…if it’s going to piss the crew off I’ll call them paddles.

Why did you buy two if you’ve never played? You only need one one and those cost $175 each. Plus, it may not be the type of paddle you need.
As far as power goes, you can fire away. And please do so I can watch your shots go out.

I don’t know anyone else with a paddle, so I bought a pair. I assume the wife and I will play…I mean hit on the local tennis court.
We’ll figure out the rules once we adapt our tennis strokes to these paddles and the whiffle balls.

It’s the cheapest paddle they make, bruh.

OK, maybe not…but not the most expensive.

ETA: I know enough about racket sports to not play with a Walmart racket…

Touché, or is it tooche?
Lol. Damn English got me there. I usually catch that one but was typing in a hurry.

this is exactly how I pictured pickleball players

I have a feeling there’s more spin in both tennis and ping pong…be we’ll see.

Can you hit with them as hard as you want…or will the carbon surface get damaged?
You want to hit the ball as hard as you can, but still have control of where the ball goes.

Why would you pay $400 dollars for two paddles for a game you have never played and you may not even like? You can buy two paddles for $20 on Amazon. If you end up liking the game and it looks like you might decide to go pro, then buy the expensive paddles.

unlike a $200 tennis racket that you can restring, these look like a one time shot.
Excuse my pickle ball ignorance, but how much do paddles even cost? $25? How much could they possibly be?
Nevermind.... I just read where they can be $400. If you have $400 to waste on pickle ball rackets.... You have $400 more to waste on new ones when they break.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the paddles you bought, it's just that paddle technology is evolving quickly and you bought a paddle that came out last year. It's essentially a worse version of the Vatic Pro Prism line (because it lacks foam injected edges), for double the price. If you're spending $150+ on a paddle in today's market, it should be thermoformed.

Because I know if I go Walmart and buy a flexi-bendy tennis racket with shite strings and try to play tennis with it…it’s not even the same sport as with my old Graphite or my son’s Radical mp.
I grew up playing tennis and have very good strokes, I don’t think this is going to be that difficult. Different, but I don’t want an $40 paddle. My wife and I grew up playing tennis…so we’re going to start by just going out and hitting on the tennis courts, there are no pickleball courts in town. We’ll figure out the paddles and balls before going to play.
