Didn't we have this discussion recently?

Just go for it’s eyes. If you take its eyes out it can’t see and it will be bleeding quite a bit.
Humans can also bite down with 120 pounds of force and ignoring pain we can rip through some flesh.
So 20 would be more then enough. Maybe even less then that.

I know some tools I'd let fight a Silverback

I know it’s your hypothetical situation, but it seems odd that you take away the very human traits which define our species.
Human bodies have evolved to allow us to be smart (think sneaky), able to run far and fast, thow objects with accuracy from a distance, and cooperate with each other to coordinate attacks.
The hypothetical you set up makes as much sense as asking how many men needed to take out a great white shark in the deep ocean without boats or any gear or any weapons.

Take 20 guys and keep coming at him from different angles simultaneously without getting close enough to get hit and you'd probably wear him out to the point you could take him down.

Is the battleground a Sonic or somewhere else? Home field means a lot

That’s one of the things people ignored in the last thread. An animal of that size can wear out pretty quickly especially if it’s being attacked non-stop.

Gorillas are approximately 8-10 times as strong as an average man. They can run roughly 20-25 MPH, or around Usain Bolt speed. They have sharp teeth with tremendous crushing power.
That gorilla is in a fight to the death. It spends all day climbing and doing physical stuff. Plus, it has an extra thick skull and basically no neck. Only so many men can get at it at once and the gorilla can probably take them all at once.
When the gorilla is exhausted plus 10-15 men.

Also, humans have a sense of their own mortality. When 5-10 people get killed, the rest are gonna start reevaluating how bad they want this.
The silverback is a wild animal and goes fight or flight. It won't stop because it wants to go home to its girlfriend without a few limbs.

If timber, rocks and other potential weapons are around. I’d say 5-10.. a big rock can put that fricker in shut down mode for long enough to finish him with available potential weapons.. there is a a distinct redesign we are the no.1 apex predator if needed

20 sounds about right. Probably less than that honestly

not sure if serious
a human biting a 400lb gorilla

More than twenty but less than one thousand. The gorilla will act on instinct which will kill a lot of men. The gorilla won’t look for angles or sneak attacks. It will straight up charge and maul. That alone will kill a shite ton of men. Next, a punch from a man to a gorillas skull is minimal compared to a punch from a gorilla to a man. Third, there is no quit in a gorilla. You punch it 10 times in the stomach and it keeps coming. It punches a man once and he’s looking to back out.

Gorilla does not even have to kill them all, one punch, one bite from a silverback is enough to disable a human.
