And how much did you pay? I’m assuming my insurance won’t cover it. I have a decent amount of money in my HSA that I would probably use.

Same. I should have done it much younger.

This is what I did. Make sure that where you go the charge is clearly stated. This $799 an eye places are typically only for the surgery and you have to pay for all the follow up visits etc.

About $2,000.00 the higher price at the Lasik Institute covered re-do's.

$3700 a year ago. Had vision insurance which saved me about $500...would do it again in a heartbeat.

I need to do LASIK. But I’m kinda scared honestly about having elective work done on my eyes.

But contacts are getting so expensive. Seems they’ve doubled in price.

I was kind of scared for a long time, but I’m ready. I mostly just wear glasses. I seem to have allergy eyes that get itchy and shite all the time and when I wear contacts I can usually only keep them in for 3 or 4 hours.

Don’t be. They’ve been doing it for a couple decades and it’s perfectly routine and safe. Complications are extremely rare.

In terms of the ROI, if you’re early 20s you could come out ahead if you don’t need lenses again until you’re in your 40s.

~$2K somewhere around 20 years ago. Great decision. Understand that the surgery will have no impact on the fact that you will eventually need readers as you age.

I used Dr. Singer. I would recommend him if he’s still doing it.

I had it done for both eyes about 18 years ago which means what I paid then is sort of irrelevant today (since I don’t remember what I paid any way ).

My visual acuity went from 20/400 to 20/15 which it still is today.

$3600 when done 20 years ago. Still see great and no reading glasses unless it's tiny print. 57 YO friend was told that the lense replacement for cataracts gives your perfect vision forever, no degradation as you age. Cost is comparable and can be partially covered on insurance in.most cases. Hoth surgeries are considered routine.

I had Lasik about 12 years ago. Paid $4500. It's worth every cent I'm so thankful I got it done.

Sneezing during surgery won’t affect the outcome of the procedure, pose any significant risks, or disrupt the surgery. The advanced laser tracks your eye movements and constantly screens, monitors, and measures the position of the eye, making real-time adjustments.

It even has an automatic shutdown feature that activates if there is any sudden movement to avoid damaging any tissue in your eye. If you sneeze or move, the laser will automatically pause and resume when you’re still again. It will readjust its position to ensure precise application. This ensures a safe, accurate, and precise procedure.

The lasers used have a fast response time and can adapt to movement. The surgeon will also be monitoring eye movements during the procedure and will pause if needed.

The laser contacts each eye for only a few seconds, so there’s no need to worry about sneezing or holding still for long. So, the odds of experiencing a sneeze during that concise time frame are low. The quickness of the procedure eliminates any fear of movement.

Additionally, the surgeon and their team are highly trained to handle unexpected situations during the procedure, ensuring successful and smooth surgery even with minor interruptions.

I've had cataract lense replacement surgery and a vitrectomy. I absolutely hate anyone or anything near my eyes. You'll be ok.

I had this done about two months ago...that's a light, cutting tool and vacuum. I was awake.
