Same. Never played, but don't see the big deal.
My best friend is a 5.0 in tennis, and she still manages to play pickleball with her family without making fun of them/it.
Tennis can be hard to just pick up when you weren't raised from childhood playing it and familiar with the natural motions, so I can't say I blame people for picking something similar that is easier to learn/play as an adult.

Honey, PE was a REQUIREMENT when I was in HS. I would wager that would be the case here. Pickleball is great. And I played football and basketball in HS. Like in most sports, I’m average, not the best, not the worst. I’m awful at soccer, as much as I love it.
I am in a similar age group, btw

This is exactly what softball is...baseball for those who can't play baseball....and softball is HUGE and a fricking blast.
