Anybody have this issue?

It seems that it is important for your personal life and work life.

Negativity makes everything worse.

How can you change your default?

If cynicism is negatively impacting your life then close all social media including TD and your level of cynicism will almost certainly drop precipitously.

Look at life from the Buddhist perspective that everything is perfect in it’s imperfection. Good and bad, right and wrong is just human opinion. It’s all perfect from a cosmic perspective. Cynicism is just a result of being too judgmental about things. Everything happens for a reason. Reasons that are beyond human logic and comprehension.

Simple, just dont get old .

Kidding.. Sort of.. i fight every day against becoming jaded and cynical.. in my line of work, it’s easy if yuo’re not careful.. Heck, i think it’s just easy with the world with live in, with the global craziness, the insane gun culture in America, the mental illness and everything else… What helps me is to try and remind myself to be thankful every day, and practice gratitude.. Oh, and watch Jerry Maguire as often as possible .

Insane gun culture, as you’ve said, who is killing who?

They kill each other at an exponential rate. How is the white man responsible for all of this?

Focus on small moments and realize how good they really are.

My kids start bugging me, I try to think about the moments I won’t get back.

Or how I have some friends that can’t get pregnant or have lost a child.

When you think about the unlikelihood of you even existing in this vast universe and in a solar system devoid of life other than this planet, it helps you remember that every day truly is a gift.

That said, sometimes I’m still a miserable piece of shite.

I’m working on it.

What if I told you that you have almost total control and can choose to approach things positively?

Really? Not cancer? Not heart disease? Not opioid deaths or child trafficking...but "gun culture"?

That's what makes you cynical?

Inner peace, peace with God and with your own mortality, peace with not having control over pretty much anything.

Laughter, being able to laugh at things light heartedly, understanding it's all not so serious.

Love, the hardest thing for sure, loving those that are in your circle truly and genuinely. Easier said than done. Let me know if you figure out an easy way.

Bes not wrong. I deleted Facebook, never signed up for insta or TikTok and check my post history how often I come by this site.

I can’t also think this is a troll by OP with a sn called “Obtuse1” and he may be a little sweaty

Try to think about how incredibly fortunate you really are in terms of human history.

I'd be less cynical if people weren't so stupid and annoying.

so long as you stay away from crowds and groups of people on the make.

Read books and let history be history and not a look at humanity.

Try to shift to being a skeptic which is slightly different.

Cynicism comes with a predisposition to believe the worst while skepticism is simply requiring proof or evidence, at least for the things you think require proof.

It may not be an easy shift and requires a conscious effort if you have slipped into cynicism.

This world can make it easy to be a cynic but people we love should make it worth the effort to embrace skepticism as an alternative.

That's just my take on it.
