I thought DOTD cameras don’t record? WBRZ has DOTD traffic camera footage of Addis wreck

There have been several high profile crime/death mysteries in and around Baton Rouge over the past few years where footage from a nearby DOTD camera would’ve been important to have but we were told that those cameras don’t record. Well, the fatal wreck that killed two Brusly teenagers when a cop slammed into their car was recorded by a traffic camera and WBRZ has it.

Are there different types of DOTD traffic cameras or something? Am I just supposed to be naive and play along with the narrative while being quiet?

Surely I must be ignorant to the types of traffic cameras and how they work because surely the police would never keep that kind of information away from the public, right?

That's what DOTD stands for.

Yea he was flying. Those poor girls must’ve died instantly upon impact. He showed no regard for that intersection and will likely serve time in prison for it.

Wow. They didn't have a chance. Probably didn't even know what happened. Infuriating.

Is it a DOTD camera or possibly another entity’s camera like the Sheriff’s office or local police. It may have even been the railroad’s camera.

It looks like it is on a regular telephone pole. DOTD usually puts cameras on their own poles.

Yea that I’m not sure and is sort of the point of this thread. Not sure if there are other types of traffic cameras other than DOTD or not. Whatever type this one is, we need hundreds of them around Baton Rouge - preferably north Baton Rouge.

This is one of the worst conspiracies ever. If there was ever a time the police would claim they don't have the footage this would be it.

So he wasn’t the first cop to blow through the red light.

This is why many departments have no chase policies, sadly.

You shouldn’t need a policy to say blowing through a red light at 100 without slowing down is a bad idea.

Suspect was the white car. Addis cop was the first car in the chase. Cop was negligent but the video cleans up a lot of false claims made in the original thread.

Is it just me or could limit chases to say less than a dozen police vehicles?

Couple that with a law that defines any maneuver the suspect makes that threatens the lives of other drivers (i.e. running a red light or high speed lane changes in traffic) during a police chase the same as holding a gun to a persons head, thus allowing the use of deadly force to stop said police chase?

You know, more protect and serve as opposed to apprehend and incarcerate.

The Police car that went through the light before him was no better. He was playing with fire too.

These cops got to know better. Absurd.
