Are those folks allowed to get off the ride or no?

I rode it along with the other ones. None of them are scary on their own. Their fear factor is totally dependent on how scared of heights you are.

Nope. Stratosphere will give them free buffet tickets for life.

Never been to Vegas but if I do, that's a big hell no for me. For some reason, the older I get the more heights bother me. The ol nuts suck up into the stomach thing.

I rode the roller coaster up on the Stratosphere, but I was mildly disappointed.
The other rides up there looked way more nerve-wracking.

No, but let's talk about the six (and more coming) FM antennas up above the ride.

Not my shot, but I'd go up there in a heartbeat. Beam me up, Mr. tower wench operator....

The older I get, the less I trust humans to maintain thrill rides that might have been safe at one time.

Not a chance in hell I get on those rides. That tower is over 1100 feet in the air

Look at the people working at a fair and then remember those are the guys that set up and maintain the ride. A ride that is probably 40 years old. A ride that gets taken down, hauled around the country, and set back up multiple times a year.

THAT is scary.

There ain’t enough liquor, whores, or money in Vegas to get me to ride that thing.

**On second thought, my initial opinion was wrong. Yes I would, but it would take a lot of Vegas whores and drugs to get me to do it.

I did it and I don’t remember it even being that scary tbh. The ride itself was built super stable and you actually had a really bad arse view from there. I remember just taking it all in and not being scared or worried

I've always been terrified of heights—so I get it—but I know it's an irrational fear. Or at least, it's irrational to be more afraid of being 100 stories up than it is to be 10 stories up.

Once you get a certain height up, anything in addition to that won't make you any more dead if you fall from it.

And if you get slung off some kind of moving amusement park ride the height necessary to kill you is an even lower threshold due to the added force of being slung to the ground rather than just falling.

You're probably guaranteed to not make it in that scenario falling no more than 50 feet or so.

With certainty, the drive to and from the airport is more dangerous than riding Insanity.

True but the higher up you are the longer you have to fall knowing you're about to die
