Is A+ (Or Any Type A Blood) The Universal Defective Blood?

Serious question. Everything I ever read seems to say that if you're Type A blood you're more like to get this, or that, or something else. We're more likely to be overweight, have heart issues, suffer from allergies, etc. Being A+ I'm also not the universal giver or universal receiver either.

Now with the Coronavirus it's come up once again that those with Type A blood are more likely to have more severe symptoms if they catch the Coronavirus.

In all seriousness, is there any benefit at all to having Type A blood? Because there sure doesn't seem like it. Especially compared to Type O blood. It seems like Type A blood is the universal sh*tty blood. Too bad we haven't figured out a way to change people's blood types and give everyone O+ blood.

Can I file for a change in blood type? Im not identifying with this shite anymore. I was born A negative, but I’d like to be O negative.

I'm A+ and I'm one of the healthiest people I know (knock wood). I rarely get sick and I'm in great shape. I can count on less than one hand the number of times I've been bedridden with illness. It all comes down to genes.

That is to say: to listen to these b.s. articles. No blood type is more susceptible to illness than any other.

Why am I not surprised by that graph? Even personality wise O+ has all the good attributes and A+ has overwhelmingly negative attributes. Even B+ is better. Literally nothing ever positive about A+. It's almost comical, A+ truly is the Universal sh*tty blood type.

I'm AB-.... I chalk it up to the Cherokee side of my family.

The hospitals blow my phone up on a daily basis begging me to come back and donate platelets. (I donate several times a year) but seems like my phone is ringing as soon as I get out the lab. I also have Hep A & B vaccinations so that makes me more popular to them. I'm also an organ donor.

I feel like for me, this is a sufficient enough mark to leave on this pale blue dot!

I am A negative and wife is O negative and we both had Covid 19 with no symptoms. She had to go to the hospital because she fell down a walking path cut her head and needed to get stitches. They kept her overnight to make sure it wasn't serious and hospital policy required a test. She was released and we got the call that she tested positive. I was tested 10 days later while we were both in quarantine and my test came back negative, but the antibody test says I did have it. Again I am A negative and was asymptomatic.
