As a general rule, liquor is cheaper in Florida than Alabama. As a general rule, liquor is cheaper damn near anywhere than Alabama. Our small government “conservatives” let the state control the retail liquor industry completely for no real reason.

Too many of your leaders are part of the good ol boy club.

People make weekly trips to Florida to buy groceries and booze. My poker group has a mule run to Florida every other week. I guess I’m guilty of gambling and running booze across state lines. Alabama same some stiff taxes and archaic laws concerning booze and sin taxes. In 2012 someone in Mobile went to jail for buying supplies to brew his own beer.

OB is a vacation attraction. You are paying for your surroundings.

Yes, and it’s not even close. Alcohol prices in AL are just stupid.

Buying liquor in Alabama is absurd. I travel to Georgia and Florida a lot, and always grab a few bottles of whatever I am low on. Usually $10-$15 cheaper, and that’s pricing at ABC. Buying at a regular liquor store, they are buying at ABC retail, and marking up. So stupid.

Me too. Too bad you don’t root for the good guys, I’d buy a round of beers

That's because any other package store HAS to buy their liquor from ABC in AL. They then mark it up and sell it in their stores.

Yes. By a lot. I paid $55 for a handle of JW Black when I went on vacation in FL last summer; same bottle is $82 in Alabama.

Casamigos Blanco at the ABC in Orange Beach was over $80 for a fifth.

A lot cheaper in Florida!

I would check out that place near the airport in Pensacola. Huge and has good prices. I try not to buy hard stuff in Alabama.

Florida is cheaper tax on liquor than Alabama. Georgia is cheaper than both.

Going through PCola?…. stop at Total Wine.
You’re welcome.

The prices on Orange Beach are laughably ridiculous. Jack Daniels 750ml for $42 or more.

Yep. Orange Beach has really high prices. Go to past Flora Bama and cross over into Florida.

This. If you are in Orange Beach, this is worth the short drive.
