A human (any human) would not stand a chance against a Cane Corso. The Romans put armor on them and used them in battle. They were used to disrupt the enemy lines.

They are also much larger than you imagine. This is a stock picture from the internet but the Canes head is twice the size of that guy.

And that doesnt evern take into account dogs that are livestock guardians, Great Pyrenees, Tibetan Mastiff, Anatolian Shepherd.

When I see dogs training men in obedience school I’ll side with the dog.

to the actual death in a confined space, an in shape human male who lifts weights will win against 95% of breeds. not they are going to come away fricked up like a soup sandwich against any larger breed but they would win.

now of course there are breeds like the kangal, tibetan etc that would prolly win against a human 75-80% of the time.

humans ability to fight on the ground, on your back, with all 4 limbs and being able to reason....yea gives humans the advantage

now against things like ape, monkey, wolf, tiger, lion, bear etc....that is different. but most dogs sure

gonna wish i died after though

and this doesnt include most of the ot who are a bunch of fat fricks.

your best bet is to get it in a headlock or something like that and shove your entire fist down it's throat as quickly as possible and just accept that you're going to have an extremely fricked up arm. even then, you'd be putting yourself at risk getting into that position and i'd say 50/50 odds at best.

are we counting Wolf as a “breed”?
because without a gun, man stands no chance.

Pretty sure a knife would work just fine here.

Sure, but an MMA fighter is intelligent and can hurt me in several ways. The only way a wolf can meaningfully hurt you with with a bite. There is a massive difference in what kind of threat exists.

I thought this too until I saw that bite take down a full grown cow elk.

I think any dog that isn’t a fat house pet that’s over 100 lbs has a good shot of killing a man in a fight to the death.

A 150 lb wolf would easily kill a man in 1v1, bare handed combat

It’s because they are scared. I’m scared of no dog and will let that dog know it. Dogs know when you’re scared and when you are not. There are lots of scared folks in this thread.

Our scenario is a fight to the death. There is no retreat, no running away, no stoppage. The dog attacks with ferocity until you’re dead.

Dogs only have a mouth. They don't have claws and their legs are not weapons.

It certainly depends on the man and the dog. I agree with some other posters that it's a 50/50 type situation. If a strong man got a dog in a head lock, it would be over.

Could you 1v1 a dog in a fight to the death?

Any and all breeds.

Not any breed.

Some despite how tough your are are just pound for pound going to get you.

An adult male highly motivated Cane Corso or Boerboel for instance is going to kill you if you are unarmed. As you mentioned heavy breeds like Mastiffs ext will get you off your feet with ease.

In general I could take up to a medium sized dog. Maybe even some larger breeds but I'm not blind to the human limitations physically in a 1v1 no weapons involved fight to the death with animals.

pretty much this.....when you know its going ot be a fight til the death and there is no running away for either...a human male could take most breads but there are some that are just too strong like the ones mentioned

what would prolly happen is both would die in that case, at least if it was a human wiiling to fight and do anything to win

like ripping off balls, shoving finger in the eye and pulling them out, even shoving a finger/fist up a dogs arse like we saw in the video the other day.

it has to be a true fight to the death mentality more so by the human than the dog or even smaller breads would kill a human quickly.
