Jesus. I can't even imagine the heartbreak.

quote:

The 19-year-old who died in a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup and an eighteen-wheeler was the brother of a 17-year-old football player who died in a vehicle crash in Harrison County on Sept. 18, 2019.

The driver in Thursday’s wreck has been identified as Payton Craig Blalock, 19, of Marshall.

Hayden Blalock, Payton’s brother, died in September of 2019 after his Ford pickup struck a wild hog on FM 1997, went off the road, struck a culvert, and rolled over. Hayden Blalock, who was a senior at Marshall High School at the time, was ejected from the vehicle.

Horrible. Although it wouldn't shock me to find out these kids were wild drivers.

So the one that died by hog wasn’t wearing a seatbelt?

I’ve known a few families who have lost multiple members to auto accidents. It’s horrible. It also made me wonder if they had genetically worse reflexes than others, or something else that would cause it. Could be just really bad luck though.

I’ve got 2 boys the same age difference.

If that happened to mine,I really don’t think I could take it.

I probably don’t do it often enough, but I really will say a prayer for those parents.

Wear your seatbelts, kids.

It sort of happened to my cousin. He had two boys one year apart. One year one had a bad accident and was not expected to recover. He was barely holding on but kept holding on and more or less miraculously recovered. The next year in almost the exact same stretch of road, his little brother wrecked and died right there. Almost a year to the day from the first accident.

It was a tough tough deal.

It clearly says one of them struck a wild hog but you assume they’re wild drivers.

I saw the aftermath of the one yesterday. fricking horrible. The truck was over 100 yards from where they collided. And then caught on fire.

They were not wild drivers. My son Hayden was headed to football practice at 6am and it was dark. A hog ran out in front of him and he hit it. Hayden always wore his seatbelt and my wife saw him out it on that morning when she let the dogs out. We sent the truck to Dallas and after many test they proved that the seatbelt failed.

It was was dark when he hit the hog. Hayden was a very patient person and very responsible. So sad people just expect the worst out of people. Wish I could talk to all these heartless people face to face. Don’t talk shite about my kids.
