I have the Ego Blower and it's great, but I'm not a Commercial Lawn guy either. That's a lot of batteries they'll need.

That's the entree to start banning all gas-powered lawn equipment in MA. That''s how Demwits work.

And those homeowners who live in neighborhoods with HOA's will get fined for not have leaves removed.

Get fined for using a gas blower or get fined for not using a gas blower.

Stupid law.

Electric blowers are fine if you have a yard the size of a postage stamp ... Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Malicious compliance.... get new blowers that run on 110 VAC and equip each trailer with the loudest generator you can find to power the blowers....

I’d like to see them do snow blowers. One winter of people shoveling snow entirely by hand and you’ll see city council members hanging from the street lights.

The only way this works is if they give a tax credit for the price of an electric to replace the gas ones people have. Otherwise most people are going to tell them to just frick off

It is but you are clueless.

The leaf debris in that part of country is such that most towns have commercial vac trucks to go around and suck up the leaves that residents push to the curb. Backpack leaf blowers, walk-behind, towed and self-propelled are pretty much all used by commerial and residential users. Electric versions are either not available or completely unable to do the volume of work. A Stihl battery-powered backpack blower has less performance, weighs significantly more, and costs nearly 4x as much as a kit than their top of the line professional gas version. If I owned a yard company and was looking at the thousands of dollars it will take to replace the gas equipment, I would make sure I charged and town-owned properties accordingly to recoup those costs.

I blow leaves out of my driveway because wet leaves are dirty and that shite gets tracked inside but I have never raked and after a couple of mows in April it all looks the same.

I switched over to Ego brand for these when my gas-powered ECHO trimmer died. They have worked just as good over the past 5 years. I will not swap out the gas-powered push mower and Zero-turn. No way on that.

Wait until people see what it cost to replace those shitty batteries in a couple of years. I figure about 5 gallon of gas does my yard for the year.

I wish my neighborhood would ban them. I often sit on my porch on weekends and late afternoons on weekdays. I pretty much always hear a gas leaf blower somewhere, sometimes a block away. They are just too loud.

I have a 40v Ryobi leaf blower and it barely has enough battery life to blow off my 16’x28’ deck one time much less my entire driveway. Would have to charge between doing both it’s ok for getting some leaves off a small area but is in no way comparable to a gas unit.

I might be slightly dyslexic.

At first glance, I thought I read that Massachusetts gang bangs leaf blowers.

If you are getting the Stihl 3000L batteries, they are over $1300.00 each after tax. They need about 3 - 4 hours to charge too, so you definitely need two if you are a commercial user, probably three or four to be safe. You can use other implements with the system but you are basically walking around with a 22lb backpack. For a professional user having to make the change to an electric ecosystem because of such a law it will probably put a lot of one-man operations out of business because it's nearly $10,000 to go all in and you still have to have a covered trailer and probably a generator or get permission from the property owner to run an extension cord or plug in the charging station while you work.

Shoot, I've been looking at Roomba styled lawn mowers. They'll run at night.
