Men vs women corporate observation

Our company is hosting an industry conference/workshop today. I gave a presentation then stood in the back for a few minutes. Here was the biggest thing I learned:
Every single male was either leaned back in their seat listening, playing in their phone, or surfing the internet on their laptop.
80% of females were frantically working on something. Either typing aggressively on their laptop or constantly maximizing/minimizing screens.
Nobody at this conference is in what I would consider a critical role.
Splain this to me OT. Why are they so complicated?

They are probably also taking care of their households while attending the conference. Drs appts, answering emails about kids, practices, etc. Just a thought...

Because everyone knows work conferences are only about the post conference cocktails/dinners, not the conference itself.

Everyone failing to read seems to be assuming that everything you described was occurring while you were speaking and not while you were observing the audience during the next presentation. More evidence of the lack of attention span beyond the first sentence.

If you would better describe the industry/issue context of the mtg, you might get a bit more feedback.
A meeting for librarians would be a bit different than Texas land man conference.
