I came across that house whilst perusing for additional properties to acquire. I passed on it, however, due to it's failure to conform to my taste.

Exactly. I know two.

Also, Worley had his hands in the Castle Restaurant and Dunleith Plantation in Natchez as well as the Bowies gar and grill there.

Who owns Bowie now? Is it gone?

Bowie Outfitters is still in BR and Natchez. The Natchez store is relocating or remodeling (can’t remember which).

A prominent Baton Rouge businessman now owns Bowie Outfitters. This transaction took place over a year ago when Worley lost (or wa about to) the business to the bank.

Same here.

I think some people's lives become all about chasing every dollar. Instead of just enjoying life and hobbies, money and owning things becomes the hobby.

Seems kind of sad. Also not the type of people I want to hang around.

Not hard to understand. He was looking for a lifeline and lied to obtain one. It sounds like he lived beyond his means and stole from the business to keep up his lifestyle.

He had trouble making payroll and had inventory controls that dated back before the Flintstones. He genuinely is a nice guy but became so broken down, I guess he started looking for avenues to circumvent the system. No different than an addicted gambler.

Bowie’s undergoing a long needed renovation at the moment too. Always liked having a store like that here, so I’m glad it’s in new and better ownership

I saw in the filings it appraised for 4-5 million. You can sit on the front porch and watch the ducks land at night..To fancy for me as I was raised hunting out of a real pirouge with a blind not much higher than the pirouge. And I killed more ducks than Worley ever dreamed of In his fancy blinds.

He owned a lot of other stuff too. Private jet, plantation house in Natchez, a couple of magnificent hunting camps, and a lot of agrucultural and timber land.

I am Glad Bowie’s is in BR. It’s a great store and has great employees. It’s nice to go somewhere and get service after the sale. Everything you get there is top notch and the people know how the shite works!!!!

It's Signature Aviation now. Worley had the largest hangar there. His jet had purple and gold accents. Beechcraft named the gold paint color "Worley gold."

I am hearing that Worley just got sentenced to 11 years. Apparently he was trying to hide some assets from the Feds. The feds found out. I am led to believe that this pissed off the sentencing judge and probably resulted in a couple of extra years to his sentence.
Sorry no link

Correction 12 years

Here is the Press release from the DOJ
