My parents are claiming my online degree from LSU "doesn't count"

My parents are convinced my online MBA classes from LSU "doesn’t count" because I’m not physically attending classes on campus. Never mind that I’m paying full tuition, have a physical Tiger Card, access to all the same resources, and am officially enrolled as an LSU student.
The online program even helped me land an internship in NYC—something I probably wouldn’t have gotten otherwise without it. Still, they act like it’s not a “real degree” just because I’m not walking to class.
It’s frustrating, especially when I’m putting in the work and getting results.
What do you guys think?

Absolutely a real degree, there are just some things you won't be able to do/have access to as an online student.
EDIT: Also, welcome to Tiger Droppings. I'm sure all of the responses you get on this site will be levelheaded and rational.

Go get a job and show them the paychecks you’re getting with your fake degree.

Tell your parents to shut the hell up

your parents are old and dumb and dont understand the difference in a remote degree from a place like LSU vs a for profit school like university of phoenix.
TLDR: Your parents are dumb, get rid of them

Do you have to change your handle?

You're parents are mostly right. The real truth is that no degrees count.

Show them the diploma is the same as every other one when you graduate?

If they’re not paying for it, why do they care?

That you should put them in the crappy, budget nursing home when the time comes. Tell them you could've afforded a nicer retirement community for them if only you had a real degree instead of an online one.

As a supplement to a real degree it’s valuable, but trying to say you got the same growth experiences and networking opportunities as someone attending classes and living on campus is asinine.
That’s like saying someone working from home and switching jobs every 1-2 years knows the companies culture, how to work with others, manage teams, and is promotable after a certain point.
They’re not the same.

I gave your mom my online degree last night. Ask her how real it is.
Your daddy shoulda pulled out
For real though, it’s a real degree. It holds the same weight as an on campus degree. You learn the same information. Your parents just aren’t accustomed to the idea of distance learning. That may never change. All that matters is that you know it’s real and you’re using it to further your career.
