My son turning 18 - gift ideas?

I suck at gift giving. What is something that I could give him that is good for a boy turning into a man that would be appreciated?
I already know how a lot of this thread will go, but if anybody has a decent real suggestion, please help.

If you enjoy spending time together, take him on a badass trip.
But it sounds like you probably don't, since you don't know him well enough to have a decent idea already.
