They are fine, usually a little more affordable; you get less of a rating (ie tread miles rating); but Kelly is a reputable brand that makes good, safe tires

They are round, black, and generally hold air.
They are a budget tire from Goodyear.
Tires are arguably the most important piece of safety equipment on a car. The difference in price compared to top-tier tires is not nearly enough for me to compromise. YMMV.

Yes, there are not a whole heck of a lot of tire factory’s in this country and most of the brand names are manufactured in the same factories as the off brands.

Tires are very dependent on the specific model and use.
Find your vehicle size and then go to tirerack or discounttire and look at overall ratings for them.
Then shop online for the best deal (installed or drop shipped) and you are good.
Saying “Goodyear” or “Dunlop” tells you nothing.

sumitomo tires and they got to be run flats

I've ran two sets of them in the last ten years. For me they weather check early. (cracking in the sidewalls) Long before the end of their tred life.
I have a bunch of rigs though and none of them get a ton of miles over the course of a year.
I have Hankooks on several vehicles and absolutely love them.

I do this for a living. Kelly’s are made by Goodyear. Their economy line. I sell a bunch of them and they always balance fine, have a decent ride and last about like they should. Truth is, tires, like vehicles, are all pretty good. I have a set of Michelins on my truck now that I really don’t like. I’ll probably put a set of Coopers on next time. The best/most economical tire I ever sold was a Kenda. It was a really cheap Chinese tire and was fantastic. The average person can’t tell the difference in tires when they are driving, some will tell you they can, but they are lying. There is some validity to cost of materials and durability, but it is pretty negligible. Find a tire you like the looks of that fits your wallet and get them. Don’t have paralysis by analysis.

Ah! Learn something new everyday. I was going to say don't get Goodyear, didn't realize they made Kelly's as well.
I had a set of goodyears ONE time.
Got so many flats, I kept a plug kit and an air compressor on that truck

Yokohama tires, and they gotta be run-flat

Thanks for your input, I’m going to get the Kelly’s or Hankook, about the same price installed.
Thanks
BTW, I found them at a local shop lower than the national chains like discount tire or tire Rack.

Any opinions on Landsails (not to be confused with land whales)?

I bet they don't know why they don't like it but they know it's different. if they had a softer sidewall tire before and have a hard sidewall tire now they will probably think it's a harsher sounding ride. I have made that mistake before. Soft sidewall tire and the car just wallowed around.

I figured the hook would catch at least one person slipping. Brakes are useless without the friction of the tire contact patch against the road surface. Even if you have 10 piston calipers squeezing aggressive pads on 440mm carbon rotors you won't stop fast if you have shitty tires. Tires are also important for handling and acceleration. They are more important than brakes in the overall scheme of safety in a car.
